On May 21, Sumgayit State University (SSU) and Azerbaijan Bank Training Center (ABTC) signed a cooperation agreement.

Rector of the University Professor Elkhan Huseynov greeted the Director of the Center Javanshir Abdullayev, expressed satisfaction with the expansion of fruitful cooperation between SSU and Azerbaijan Bank Training Center, spoke about the activities of the university, international relations, measures taken to develop education at the university.

He noted that our university has signed cooperation agreements with many institutions, as a result of which our students have internships in accordance with their specialties, which gives impetus to the formation of human resources in accordance with the requirements of the day.

Director of the Azerbaijan Bank Training Center Javanshir Abdullayev spoke about the importance of the meeting, issues of mutual interest and the contribution of this cooperation to the development of our state and education. He noted that in accordance with the Detailed Action Plan for the implementation of the State Program "On the expansion of digital payments in the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2018-2020" approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated September 26, 2018 No. 508, within the framework of the event "Organization of various educational seminars and trainings on digital payments and their benefits for students of secondary special education and higher education institutions" organized by the Department of Economics of Sumgayit State University, Central Bank, Azerbaijan Bank Training Center, the trainings for economics qualified students, teachers and staff were organized on the Zoom platform. The first trainings were held on January 26, 29 and February 1, 3 this year.

The topics of the first four-day trainings were "Advantages of the digital economy", "Insurance", "Responsible borrowing". The trainings were conducted in an interactive mode. Given the interest in the trainings, the organizers agreed to organize a second training. The second trainings took place on April 5, 6 and 8, 2021. At the end of the trainings, participants were awarded certificates. A total of 193 students, 48 teachers and staff were involved in the trainings.

During the trainings, the parties discussed new perspectives and stressed the importance of creating a legal framework for future joint projects. We believe that the agreement will serve to conduct joint training between the two institutions, increase the theoretical and practical knowledge of staff and students through the mutual use of scientific and logistical potential.

At the end of the meeting, a cooperation agreement was signed between Sumgayit State University and Azerbaijan Bank Training Center.

According to the agreement, it is planned to organize mutual cooperation in the process of training professionals in the field of finance and banking in the country, the establishment of research and training bases of both sides, the development of cooperation in various sectors of the economy, bachelor's degree organization of students' production and research practices of masters, ensuring joint participation in scientific and scientific-practical conferences and other events organized by the parties, etc.
