INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS STUDYING AT SSU PARTICIPATED IN THE INTERNATIONAL YOUTH CONFERENCE "FREE US FROM LANDMINES"
On June 11, the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan and ADA University jointly organized an international youth conference entitled "Free us from landmines". The main topic of the conference was that maps of mines planted by Armenia in our liberated territories have not been submitted to Azerbaijan so far, and this has led to continuous casualties.
At the conference, a minute of silence was observed in memory of the victims of the mine terror, including journalists Siraj Abishov and Maharram Ibrahimov, who were killed by a landmine on June 4 in the Kalbajar region.
Then ADA University Executive Vice-Rector Fariz Ismayilzade, Youth Foundation Executive Director Farid Jafarov, Department head of Azerbaijan Ministry of Foreign Affairs Jafar Huseynzade, ANAMA Department Head Elnur Gasimov, well-known social blogger Adnan Huseyn, Turkish Youth Foundation Head Enes Eminoglu and others from abroad speakers spoke. They condemned Armenia's refusal to hand over mine maps, which are considered an international war crime, to Azerbaijan, and discussed issues of future security, the return of our IDPs to their lands and the restoration of our liberated lands.
Well-known blogger Adnan Huseyn stressed the importance of being active on social networks in bringing the true voice of Azerbaijan to the attention of the international community in the post-conflict period.
The participants of the conference discussed the actions of young people in bringing Armenia to justice in international courts, international cooperation in demining, the role of youth in conveying the truth to the world community, etc. Numerous questions of this kind were answered in detail by the panelists.
The conference, which was attended live and online by leading Azerbaijani youth organizations, local representatives of international youth organizations, Azerbaijani and foreign students, as well as representatives of a number of foreign youth organizations , demonstrating support for Azerbaijan's just position at the conference, they stressed the importance of uniting efforts to prevent Armenia's actions that hinder peace in the region.
The hybrid event was attended by more than 300 participants from Azerbaijan and abroad. Ramazan Yurdadog (Turkey) 4th year student of Psychology from Sumgayit State University, Mehmet Sabri Tonbul (Turkey) 4th year student of Psychology, Omar Faruk Ozavci (Turkey) 4th year student of Psychology, Garibova Leila (Georgia) 2nd year English teacher, Ismailova Fidan (Georgia) History teacher 2nd year, Bairamova Malak (Georgia) Chemistry and Biology 2nd year and other international students participated in the online format.
