YOUNG INVENTORS OF SSU ARE AMONG THE WINNERS OF THE EURASIAN PATENT UNIVERSIADE "LOOKING TO THE FUTURE"
The Eurasian Patent Universiade "Looking to the Future" dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Eurasian Patent Organization has been successfully completed. The knowledge contest was attended by students of educational institutions of the member states of the Eurasian Patent Convention and other interested young people aged 18-25. Representatives of our country also actively participated in the competition at the initiative of the Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Among the winners of the Universiade were students of Sumgayit State University. A team of students of the Faculty of Engineering under the leadership of Professor Javanshir Mammadov, Head of the Department of Process Automation of the University: 3rd year student Seymur Talibov and 2nd year student Gudrat Agazadeh successfully performed in the competition and won the second place. Seymur Talibov and Gudrat Agazadeh's project "Mobile robot for detection and automatic elimination of coronavirus COVID-19 in medical institutions" project was awarded the 2nd place on the subject "Virus protection - the enemy will not pass! Personal protection systems of doctors and patients from infection”. They were invited to the finals of the International Assembly of Young Researchers.
On June 17, a meeting was held with the leadership of the Intellectual Property Agency and Vice President of the Eurasian Patent Organization Emil Mammadov with 2nd year student of Process Automation Gudrat Agazadeh and 3rd year student Seymur Talibov of Sumgayit State University to award the winners of the Eurasian Patent Universiade - 2021 competition "Looking to the Future".Professor Ramazan Mammadov, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovations of Sumgayit State University, and Kamran Imanov, Chairman of the Board of the Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, also took part in the awarding ceremony of the Universiade winners.
Then, Deputy Chairman of the Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sanan Tapdigov organized a meeting with the winners of the Eurasian Patent Universiade-2021 "Looking to the Future". Opening the event, Sanan Tapdigov stressed that the winners of this year's Universiade were students of SSU and BSU. As the second winner of the Universiade, SSU students successfully presented their project online in English at the International Assembly of Young Researchers in Veliky Novgorod.
At the award ceremony, Vice President of the Eurasian Patent Organization Emil Mammadov presented valuable prizes to the winners on behalf of EPO and wished them success.
Prof. Ramazan Mammadov, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovations of SSU, addressed the event and congratulated the winners. The academic adviser of the winners, Professor Javanshir Mammadov, also thanked the leadership of the Organizing Committee of the Eurasian Patent Universiade and the Intellectual Property Agency.
It should be noted that the Eurasian Patent Organization was established in 1994. Our country signed the Eurasian Patent Convention on September 9, 1994, and became a full member of the organization in 1995 with the ratification of the convention.
