On June 30, a delegation led by the rector of Sumgayit State University (SSU), Professor Elkhan Huseynov, met with the leadership of the Sumgayit Technologies Park (STP).

Sumgayit State University (SSU) and Sumgayit Technologies Park LLC signed a memorandum of cooperation.

The memorandum was signed by Rector Professor Elkhan Huseynov and General Director of the company Ruslan Aghabeyli.

During the round table meeting, Director General of Sumgayit Technologies Park LLC Ruslan Aghabeyli greeted the rector of Sumgayit State University, Professor Elkhan Huseynov and the delegation, and expressed satisfaction with the expansion of fruitful cooperation between STP and SSU.

Ruslan Aghabeyli spoke about the activities of the industrial park he heads. Noting the importance of the future prospects of cooperation between SSU and STP, he noted that it will give impetus to the expansion of cooperation between enterprises. He noted that STP, launched on December 22, 2009 with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev, is a huge complex of plants specializing in various industries. STP not only fully meets the needs of the domestic market, but also has the ability to export products to foreign markets. All plants of the Technopark are equipped with laboratories made in Europe and accredited in accordance with the standards AZS ISO / IEC 17025-2009, all products have the appropriate certificates. International standards ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 are also applied in STP. Ruslan Aghabeyli also noted that thanks to the historical services of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the attention and care of his political successor, President Ilham Aliyev, Sumgayit State University has become an influential scientific and educational center of the country and the region. Various projects for the development of human resources are being implemented at Sumgayit State University, which ensures the formation of the scientific and cultural elite of our city, as well as the region, and significant achievements are being made. This policy, implemented under the leadership of Rector Professor Elkhan Huseynov, has a positive impact on the formation of our youth as professionals. I believe that this cooperation, which we have laid the foundation for, will be important for both sides and will make a great contribution to the development of our country's human resources.

Rector of Sumgayit State University Professor Elkhan Huseynov thanked Ruslan Aghabeyli, General Director of Sumgayit Technologies Park LLC for the warm reception and spoke about the importance of establishing these relations in building mutual cooperation. He said that STP has all the qualities required to become one of the world's leading companies.

Rector Elkhan Huseynov informed about the activities of the university, its international relations, talked about the measures taken for the development of education at the university, the successes achieved and expressed satisfaction with the expansion of fruitful cooperation. He noted: “Our university has signed cooperation agreements with many institutions, as a result of which our students have internships in accordance with their specialties. This gives impetus to the formation of human resources in accordance with the requirements of the day. The rector also noted that for the first time in the history of SSU, starting from 2017, training of specialists in the doctoral program is carried out. One of the greatest achievements in the history of SSU is the establishment of the Dissertation Council at the request of the Scientific Council. At present, the university has 3 Dissertation Councils in 6 specialties”.

“Today, our university is recognized by the scientific and educational centers operating in the CIS, Turkey and a number of European countries for its success in integrating science into education and European values.

Our university, whose name and development are directly connected with the city of Sumgayit, a powerful industrial center of the South Caucasus, and which has contributed to the formation of its human resources, scientific and cultural elite, still implements projects for human resource development and achieves significant success”.

At the end of the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the parties.

According to the document, SSU students will have the opportunity to have an internship at the LLC and benefit from the company's technical base. It is also planned to involve students in research and design work, to organize joint scientific-theoretical and master classes between the parties. In addition, the parties will develop, implement and promote programs based on innovative solutions to increase students' interest in technical specialties. Within the framework of the cooperation, it is planned to train young professionals to meet the needs of personnel in various industries, and to implement a number of projects to contribute to the future of the country.
