OUR STUDENT-ATHLETE WON THE WORLD CUP IN FIGHT WITHOUT RULES
Today, we can proudly say that Azerbaijan has become one of the most developed sports centers in the world. This is confirmed by the fact that in recent years we have hosted many prestigious sports competitions, as well as achieved high results in European and world championships and the Olympic Games.
Sumgayit State University, as in other fields, shows great interest in sports. As a result, our student-athletes participate in various sports competitions, achieve high results and defend the honor of Sumgayit State University. Rector Professor Elkhan Huseynov always takes care of student-athletes in this direction. In order to effectively spend students' leisure time, a large gym was overhauled, a chessboard was built in the courtyard of the university, a football field with artificial turf, volleyball and basketball courts, and kiosks for table games were built. Of course, all this is for the future of our future generation.
At the World Cup in Universal Martial Arts among juniors, youth, women and men, held from June 29 to July 3 in Kobleva, Ukraine our representative in fight without rules Ulvi Teyubzadeh, a third-year student of the group 319 of Faculty of Chemistry and Biology, won the World Cup in the 100 kg + weight class, defeating the Georgian athlete in the semifinals and the Moldovan athlete in the final and won a gold medal. Ulvi Teyubzade successfully represented our country and our university.
