On July 16, an online meeting was organized by the State Program Management Group of the Ministry of Education between the high-level staff of higher education institutions of the republic. The meeting, moderated by Turan Topalova, head of the state program management group, was attended by Nijat Mammadli, head of the Science, Higher and Secondary Special Education Department of the Ministry of Education, and Tural Ahmadov, head of the International Cooperation Department. The main purpose of the meeting was to introduce the essence of the implementation of the "State Program on Enhancing the International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023" by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated November 16, 2018 No. 711 and to discuss the rules of selection of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan to study at the doctoral level in foreign universities, the duties and responsibilities of the higher education institution that issued the letter of consent.

The priority topic of the meeting was the establishment of international dual degree programs in local higher education institutions to modernize the content and quality indicators of the higher education system in the country and the organization of doctoral education at the prestigious foreign universities in connection with strengthening the academic capacity of our universities.

The meeting also provided detailed information on opportunities to study in 7 priority specialties (agriculture, nature, technical and technological, health and welfare, economics and management, education, humanitarian and social specialties) at the world"s top 500 universities. 

From Sumgayit State University the event was attended by Vice-Rector for International Relations Gafar Atayev, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovations Professor Ramazan Mammadov, and, an employee of the Department of International Cooperation and Foreign Students Sadagat Fatullayeva.

We would like to inform that within the framework of the State Program, the admission of documents for doctoral education abroad for the fall semester of 2021 has started and the deadline for applications is July 31, 2021.
