A large part of the scientific elite and human resources of Sumgayit, which retains the status of the most powerful industrial city in the Caucasus and is considered one of the spiritual capitals of the country and the region, is directly related to the name of SSU.

The staff of Sumgayit State University also contributes to the coverage of economic, social and cultural projects implemented in the liberated territories after the victory of Azerbaijan in the 44-day Patriotic War at world-class international conferences. Starting from April 2021, students and lecturers of the Faculty of Economics and Management of SSU have participated in scientific and practical conferences in many countries and received various awards.
