The Patriotic War, which began on September 27 last year, ended in just 44 days with the victory of the glorious Azerbaijani Army led by Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. Every day of the holy march of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces for Karabakh turned into a day of victory. Every day our heroic warriors advanced, and not once in 44 days did our brave soldiers withdraw an inch from the territories they had liberated from the enemy. For 44 days, the brave sons of Azerbaijan demonstrated unprecedented heroism and patriotism in the history of mankind, created a new combat experience in the world military. They healed the 30-year-old Karabakh wound. On November 8, 2020, our glorious army waved the tricolor flag of Azerbaijan in Shusha, the crown of Karabakh, and our heroes once again broke the will of the enemy by making them to kneel. Heroic Azerbaijani warriors liberated 70 more occupied villages on November 9 Flag Day and gave our people the joy of victory. On the night of November 10, Commander-in-Chief of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev announced the great victory to his people: “Today is a historic day for our country. Today, the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is coming to an end. I think that the signed trilateral statement will be the last point in resolving the issue. " Everyone became a volunteer for the Motherland. Last year, the people of Azerbaijan lived each of the 44 days of the Victory War with the joy of victory. Under the leadership of the victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, our glorious Army has demonstrated its strength and power to the whole world. We are indebted to our Martyrs and Veterans, whose names are written in golden letters, who gave us the joy of this Victory. Under the leadership of the rector of Sumgayit State University, Professor Elkhan Huseynov, the faculty and students of the university periodically visit the families of martyrs, they are respected and honored.

On October 15, Ramiz Huseynov, Vice-Rector for Humanitarian Affairs of Sumgayit State University, Elmar Khalilov, Head of the Free Trade Union Committee, and a group of young people visited the family of martyr Tarlan Rovshad oglu Rzayev on the eve of Victory Day.

At the meeting, Vice-Rector Associate Professor Ramiz Huseynov conveyed the greetings of Rector Professor Elkhan Huseynov. He thanked God for the martyrs of the Patriotic War for the liberation of our lands under the resolute leadership of Ilham Aliyev and wished healing to our veterans. The families of the martyrs expressed their pride in the successful and rapid construction work carried out in our liberated lands under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. They noted that the attention and care of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan

Ilham Aliyev and the First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva to the families of martyrs, veterans, as well as participants of the Great Patriotic War are at the highest level. They noted that the attention and appreciation shown by the President to the families of martyrs today is an example of patriotic education of the younger generation.

During the conversation, the family members of the martyr thanked the rector of the university, Professor Elkhan Huseynov, for the attention and care shown to the families of the martyr.
