The teacher is the architect of the spiritual world of the young generation, a person trusted by society. Society owes its teachers for progress, development and cultural advancement. The teaching profession is as responsible, difficult and complex as it is honorable.

On October 18, a commemorative event was organized entitled "TEACHER Living in Hearts" dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Bahram Mammadli, former associate professor of the Department of History of Azerbaijan and Eastern European Peoples, Faculty of History and Geography, Sumgayit State University. The event was attended by relatives of the scientist, pen friends, historians and students.

Speaking at the event, the Dean of the Faculty of History and Geography, Professor Adil Bakhshaliyev, spoke about the attention and care shown to scientists at Sumgayit State University. He noted that Bahram Mammadli was a well-known scientist and a wonderful teacher. The dean gave a brief overview of the scientist's scientific activity. He stated that Bahram Idris oglu Mammadli was born in 1946 in Boyuk Pirahmedli village of Fizuli region in a family of servants. In 1952, he entered the first grade of secondary school in Fizuli region, then continued his education at secondary school No. 5 in Aghdam, in 1966 he was admitted to the Faculty of History of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical Institute. From 1970 to 1981 he was engaged in pedagogical activities. In 1981, he worked as the director of the Museum of History and Ethnography of Fizuli region. In 1986, he defended his dissertation at the Institute of History of the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences on "Struggle to improve the material well-being and cultural and technical level of the peasants in Azerbaijan in the 1930s" and received the degree of candidate of historical sciences. He is the author of more than 20 scientific articles and books. Since 2003, he has worked as an associate professor at the Department of History of the Peoples of Azerbaijan and Eastern Europe at Sumgayit State University. Bahram's work has always been highly appreciated by the rector of the university, Professor Elkhan Huseynov, and he was awarded an honorary diploma.

Professor Shirkhan Salimov, Head of the Department of History of Azerbaijan and Eastern European Peoples of SSU, spoke about the glorious life of Bahram Mammadli, his contributions to Azerbaijani science, especially history, socio-political activities and scientific creativity. His tireless work is an example for our youth and an incentive for them to work harder.

Mrs. Mashuga, the scientist's wife, shared her memories of Bahram Mammadli. She said that Bahram Mammadli, in addition to being a prominent scientist, was a beautiful man, a true friend, the head of a loving and beloved family.

Speaking on behalf of the scientist's family, his son Elmin thanked everyone who contributed to the event.

Then, a video prepared by students dedicated to the life and work of Bahram Mammadli was shown.

At the end of the event, the dean of the faculty, Professor Adil Bakhshaliyev, thanked the rector of SSU, Professor Elkhan Huseynov, on behalf of the participants for the attention and care given to the work of our teachers, as well as the comprehensive conditions created for such events at the university.
