The next online meeting of the Scientific Council of Sumgayit State University was held on October 29.

Rector Professor Elkhan Huseynov greeted the participants and informed them about the issues on the agenda, the agenda was approved.

Faig Shirinov, Director of the Methodological Center gave information on the results of enrollment of students at Sumgayit State University in the 2021/2022 academic year at undergraduate education, Associate Professor Sabir Khalilov, Head of the Doctoral and Master's Department at the Master's level and Director of Sumgayit State Technical College under SSU, Associate Professor Matanat Pirguliyeva about the results of the College. They noted that the forecast plan for most specialties has been fully implemented. Heads of departments and deans of faculties were instructed to analyze the needs of the labor market in-depth in the preparation of the forecast plan, in particular, to study the needs of specialists in Sumgait and surrounding regions and to develop a substantiated forecast plan based on the results of the analysis.

Natig Talibov, Vice-Rector for Teaching Organization and Training Technologies, spoke about the establishment of the Quality Assurance Department. He noted that the Quality Assurance Department of Sumgayit State University should be established on the basis of the Department of Evaluation and Quality Control and the Quality Assurance Center (ERASMUS + EQAC) and reorganized in accordance with modern requirements.

Executive Secretary of the Competition Commission, Associate Professor Gadir Mansurov informed about the results of the competition in the nomination "The best textbook and teaching aids". He suggested that the authors of textbooks and teaching aids be awarded diplomas and prizes. He informed about the approval of the topic of doctoral dissertations and scientific advisers of the employees admitted to the doctoral program and the approval of the dissertations and scientific supervisors of the employees admitted to the doctoral program.

In connection with the approval of the regulations of the Rector's Office, Chief Lawyer associate professor Amina Hasanova spoke.

Then the issue of participation of SSU staff and students in the vaccination process was discussed.

Natig Talibov, Vice-Rector for Teaching Organization and Training Technologies, said that the vaccination process is underway in our country in accordance with the "Strategy for Vaccination against COVID-19 for 2021-2022." In Azerbaijan, people who have been vaccinated against a new type of coronavirus (COVID-19) infection every 2 doses are recommended to be vaccinated with the 3rd dose (booster dose). In order to ensure the active participation of students in this process, on October 8 in the main educational building of the university the vaccination process was carried out by the medical team of Sumgayit city polyclinic No. 3 for the remaining unvaccinated and those who didn't have their 2nd vaccinations. On October 25, the third booster dose vaccination of employees started.

It was noted that the vaccination process is underway at the university with the participation of medical staff. Ramiz Huseynov, Vice-Rector for Humanitarian Affairs, was entrusted with ensuring the timely vaccination of all employees. The rector also noted that the lists of students sent by the Department of Health should be checked in all faculties, and if the names of students not studying at SSU are found in the list, the management and the Department of Health should be informed.

Scientific Secretary Mukhtar Samadov informed about the granting of the right to publish textbooks. He noted that the Scientific Council included 3 (three) textbooks and 2 (two) subject programs. Following the discussions, the publication of teaching aids was allowed.
