Under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, the Agency for Quality Assurance in Education (AQAE) has started to hold events on "Quality Assurance" in higher education institutions. The first event was organized at the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The purpose of the event is to improve the experience of higher education institutions in building an internal quality assurance system and provide support to existing structural units of internal quality assurance. The event was attended by heads and officials of Quality Assurance departments representing higher education institutions in different regions of Azerbaijan. Sumgayit State University was represented by Narmin Hasanova, an employee of the Quality Assurance Department.

After the meeting was opened by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Azerbaijan Technical University, Professor Nurali Yusifbeyli, Asiman Ilyasov, Head of the Training and Methodology Department of AQAE, Consultant Elmar Mustafayev made presentations on “New Accreditation Rules and Comparison with Previous Accreditation Rules”, Elmar Mustafayev, Acting Head of the Accreditation and Licensing Department, made a presentation on “New Accreditation Rules and Comparison with Previous Accreditation Rules”. In addition, Jamil Mammadov, Director of the Distance Education and Quality Assurance Center of Baku Engineering University, Faina Gochabayova, Head of the Quality Assurance Department of the University of Tourism and Management, Ramil Ahmadov, Director of the Quality Assurance Department of the National Aviation Academy made interesting presentations on the activities of the departments and provided useful information to the meeting participants.

At the end of the event, Asiman Ilyasov noted that a series of meetings will be organized to improve the experience in building an internal quality assurance system and provide support to the existing internal quality assurance structural units, and the next meeting is scheduled for 3 months.
