On November 5, the Faculty of Physics and Electrical Engineering hosted an online event dedicated to Victory Day with the participation of professors and students entitled "November 8 is the Day of National Pride, Victory and Triumph."

First, a group of professors, teachers and students of the faculty visited the memorial of students and graduates erected in the courtyard of the university and laid flowers in front of the monument. Then the souls of our martyrs who died for the freedom and territorial integrity of our Motherland were commemorated with a minute of silence.

The event was opened by the Dean of the Faculty, Associate Professor Tamella Ahmadova, who congratulated the participants on the upcoming Victory Day and spoke about the importance of the historic victory. She noted that during the 44-day war, under the leadership of President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, 30 years of longing were ended with the courage of soldiers and officers of the Azerbaijani Army. “Justice has won, our territory has been united, Karabakh has been annexed to Azerbaijan. In short, we were lucky to have Victory Day, when the truth found its place. Today, the soul of the founder of independent Azerbaijan, our great leader Heydar Aliyev is happy. Because the Karabakh issue has already been resolved by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, who successfully continues the policy of the National Leader. Karabakh is Azerbaijan!”

Nazli Isgandarova, a student of group 536 of the faculty, said that under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, our army liberated Karabakh after many years of enemy occupation and historical justice was restored. November 8, written in the history of Azerbaijan as the glorious Victory Day, became the brightest page in the military history of Azerbaijan.

Nurlan Muradov, a graduate of the faculty, a participant of the Patriotic War, who fought in the direction of Jabrayil, Gubadli, was awarded the medals "For the liberation of Gubadli from occupation", "For the liberation of Jabrayil from occupation" and Parviz Ismayilov, a student of the faculty who took part in the battles in the direction of Tartar, Aghdara, Talysh, Sugovushan, was awarded the medal "For the liberation of Sugovusha from occupation", spoke about their battle path and congratulated the participants on the Victory Day. They said that President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev realized the greatest dream of our people in the Great Patriotic War, and that the great victory was one of the most glorious pages in the centuries-old history of Azerbaijan's statehood.
