On November 6, on the occasion of Victory Day, the Department of Business Organization and Management of Sumgayit State University, the Department of Economics of Baku State University and the Department of Economics of Nakhchivan State University organized an online event on "Priorities for agricultural rehabilitation and development in the liberated territories."

The head of the Department of Business Organization and Management of SSU, Assoc. prof. Galib Huseynov opened the event and greeted the guests, congratulated them on the Victory Day and spoke about the importance of the event. He noted that the restoration of our territorial integrity in a short period of time under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief opens new opportunities, prospects and tasks for the sustainable development of our economy. Reconstruction works and implementation of infrastructure projects are being successfully continued in our liberated lands. The development of agriculture in the liberated areas has been declared one of the priority areas, and "Smart Village" projects are being implemented to restructure agriculture on an innovative basis. The development of areas with significant agricultural potential will play a major role in further strengthening Azerbaijan"s economic position in the region and ensuring economic security.

Head of the Department of Economics of Nakhchivan State University, Associate Professor Jeyhun Mahmudov thanked for the organization of the event.He said that the Azerbaijani people are living in one of the most glorious periods in its history. Under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani Army has shown its strength to the whole world. The new economic value to be created in the liberated territories will many times exceed the financial costs of the Azerbaijani state. The development of agriculture in these areas will, first of all, contribute to the country"s food security, employment, attract new investment and use water resources. The restoration of these areas will create many new jobs. Thus, the implementation of new infrastructure projects will have a positive impact on the employment of our citizens.

Professor of the Department of Economics of BSU Vahid Abbasov made speech on "Main priorities for the development of the agricultural sector in the liberated lands", Head of the Department of World Economy and Management of NSU, Associate Professor Javadkhan Gasimov on "Opportunities for the impact of the existing potential of the liberated territories on the agricultural sector and employment", Tarana Ahmadova, Associate Professor of Business Organization and Management, made a report on "Strategic importance of the development of the agricultural sector in the socio-economic revival of the Karabakh and East-Zangazur economic regions." They noted that the construction work to be carried out in Karabakh in the coming years will bring many innovations to the life of our country, and the Great Return will be a return to a qualitatively new life. It is safe to say that the complete liberation of Zangazur from occupation and the return of our compatriots to their native lands are not far off, and at least in the near future, the Zangazur corridor will increase these hopes and confidence. At the same time, the Zangazur corridor is a very important corridor connecting the Eurasian space. It is the gateway to both the Caucasus and Central Asia.

Heads of departments of the faculty: Head of the Department of World Economy and Marketing, Associate Professor Malahat Panahaliyeva, Head of the Department of Financial Accounting, Associate Professor Logman Abdullayev, Head of the Department of Economics, Associate Professor Lala Mahmudova and scientists of the Department of World Economy and Marketing spoke about the importance of the event. They noted that the establishment of the Victory Day in honor of Azerbaijan"s victory in the Second Karabakh War is a testament to the determination and will of the Azerbaijani people, economic strength, modern army building and people"s unity, the term "Karabakh conflict" has gone down in history.

In conclusion, the dean, associate professor Aynura Yahyayeva congratulated the guests and participants of the event on the occasion of Victory Day, noting that the people of Azerbaijan are living the most glorious, proud days of modern history. “A year ago, during the war, the liberation of Shusha marked a turning point in the war. The liberation of Shusha, the pearl of Karabakh, from 28 years of slavery on November 8 and this unprecedented victory, which became a celebration of the determination and strength of our people, was a decisive victory. It is no coincidence that by the relevant decree of President Ilham Aliyev, the celebration of this day every year has been made official and has become the brightest page of our history. We are eternally grateful not only to this day of the year, but also to our martyrs and veterans who gave us this pride and this victory every day.”
