On November 6, the Faculty of Economics and Management held an event called "Iron Fist" dedicated to the Victory Day on November 8.

First, the memory of the martyrs of the Great Patriotic War was commemorated with a minute of silence. A video dedicated to November 8 Victory Day was shown.

The event was opened by Almaz Hamidova, Senior Lecturer of the Department of World Economy and Marketing, Doctor of Philosophy in Economics, who congratulated the participants on the upcoming Victory Day and spoke about the importance of the historic victory. She noted that today's event called "Iron Fist" is dedicated to the 44-day victory in the field of determination and unity of our people, based on the political-military strategy established under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.

Speaking at the event, the dean of the faculty, associate professor Aynura Yahyayeva congratulated the participants on the holiday, spoke about the achievements of Azerbaijan over the past 30 years, said that due to the successful development of the country, our statehood traditions have strengthened and our economic and political strength increased. She noted that Victory Day is a bright event written in golden letters in the centuries-old history of Azerbaijan. She stressed that the great victory is a brilliant military-political result of the war for the integrity of Azerbaijan. Our heroic soldiers and officers, our civilians working in the rear, the whole Azerbaijani people demonstrated unity and solidarity, gave a worthy response to the occupier, as a result of Operation Iron Fist the enemy was defeated and the Azerbaijani Army won.

The event was attended by the mother of the martyr Farhad Aliyev, specialist of the personnel department of SSU Taja Vahabova, the father of the martyr Jabrayil Dovletzade Dovlet Dovletzade and his aunt, the head of the Department of Philosophy, Sociology and Political Science of SSU, associate professor Savvara Rzaguliyeva, the head of the Department of Information Technology and Programming Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Agil Huseynov, Veteran Salimov Sadig's father, Head of the Department of History of Azerbaijan and Eastern European Peoples, SSU Shirkhan Salimov, Veteran Hamidov Novruz's mother, Senior Lecturer of the Department of World Economy and Marketing, Doctor of Philosophy in Economics Almaz Hamidova spoke about the heroism of the Azerbaijani Army in the Karabakh war, the glorious victory that resulted in the liberation of our lands occupied for more than 30 years, the short and glorious life of their loved ones. They said that the Azerbaijani people always appreciate the courage of their sons and daughters, respect the spirit of all our martyrs, and honor their memory. They pay tribute to our soldiers and officers, all our martyrs who fought heroically in the Great Patriotic War, waved the Azerbaijani flag in our liberated lands, and sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of our country. In the end, they thanked President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva for the attention and care shown to their families.

Valeh Ibadov, Nurlan Bashirov, Gunduz Aliyev, war veterans and former students of the Faculty of Economics and Management, spoke about their glorious path of battle. They noted that like every human being, a warrior wants to live, to achieve his dreams, to have his own dreams, to think of his family. But in the reality of war, you realize that you can't be divided, there is an enemy ahead, you are his target, you have to clear your holy land from the aggressor, you have to return as a victor. War is not without losses, death was as close to us as a breath, but the fear of death should not overwhelm you, if you have a fighting spirit, it gives a person moral strength. Being a martyr and a veteran on the way to the homeland is an honorable destiny for a person.

Sakhavat Mammadova, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Business Organization and Management, Shafa Aliyev, Professor of the Department of World Economy and Marketing, Doctor of Economics, and Malahat Panahaliyeva, Head of the Department spoke at the event. They spoke about the 44-day Patriotic War, the brilliant victory of our mighty Army over the enemy under the leadership of President of Azerbaijan, Glorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. They spoke about the position of the 44-day Patriotic War in the history of Azerbaijan's statehood and the world's military history. They noted that the great victory was achieved thanks to the wise policy of President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, and the courage of our glorious Army, as well as the close unity of our people around the "iron fist", regardless of religion or nationality. The speakers noted that the Patriotic War, which Azerbaijan won in 44 days, was written in golden letters in the world military history, and expressed confidence that this war will be talked about for centuries.

The event featured a slide show on the events in Barda and Ganja and poems on "Mother's Voice" and "Victory”.
