SSU HOSTED AN AWARDING CEREMONY OF THE WINNERS OF THE COMPETITIONS HELD IN CONNECTION WITH NOVEMBER 8 - VICTORY DAY
In connection with November 8 - Victory Day, Sumgayit State University held a series of events in accordance with the plan of events: scientific conferences, seminars, lectures, round tables, creative competitions consisting of poetry, song, painting and handicrafts.
On November 18, in the Great Assembly Hall of Sumgayit State University, a ceremony was held to award students and employees who took part in poetry, song, painting and handicraft creative competitions dedicated to Victory Day in accordance with quarantine rules.
The event was opened by the rector of the university, Professor Elkhan Huseynov, who spoke about the importance of the events held in connection with November 8 - Victory Day. He noted that the Patriotic War, which began on September 27 last year and resulted in the liberation of our occupied territories, has become the brightest page in our history. The rector also noted that the students of Sumgayit State University demonstrated a high patriotic spirit in the brilliant victory in the 44-day Patriotic War.
Then the awarding ceremony was held. The winners were awarded by the Rector Professor Elkhan Huseynov with honorary diplomas and gifts.
It should be noted that Ulker Akbarova, a third-year student of the Faculty of Philology, Aliya Alizadeh, a fifth-year student of the Faculty of Economics and Management, and Shabnam Abishova, a fourth-year student of the Faculty of Philology, took the first, second and third places in the poetry contest dedicated to November 8 Victory Day.
Aytaj Heydarova, a fourth-year student of the Faculty of Philology, took the first place, Tural Hasanov, a third-year student of the Faculty of Philology, took the second place, Ilaha Farhadzadeh, a first-year student of the Faculty of Philology, and Huseyn Mammadov, a fourth-year student of the Faculty of Physics and Electric Power took the third place in music contest.
In the creative competition of paintings and handicrafts dedicated to the Victory Day on November 8, Jeyran Mammadova, a third-year student of the Faculty of Engineering, took the first place, Vusal Mammadov and Vakil Namazov, a fourth-year students of the Faculty of Physics and Electrical Engineering Vusal Mammadov and Vakil Namazov took the 2nd place, Tarana Ahmadova, associate professor of Department of Business Organization and Management of the Faculty of Economics and Management and a third-year student of the Faculty of Chemistry and biology Malak Bairamova took the 3rd place.
Narmin Aliyeva, a student of Sumgayit State Technical College under SSU, and Tamara Aliyeva, Fatima Mammadzade, Nijat Guliyev were awarded certificates and incentive prizes for their excellence in the creative competition of paintings and handicrafts and poetry contest.
