THE REPRESENTATIVE OF SSU TOOK PART IN A SEMINAR WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF AN INTERNATIONAL PROJECT IN SUPPORT OF THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A REGIONAL TRAINING CENTER FOR MIGRATION IN AZERBAIJAN
A regional seminar was held at the Hayat Regency Hotel on November 25-26 as part of a joint project implemented by the State Migration Service and the International Organization for Migration in Azerbaijan.
Opening the event, Vusal Huseynov, Chief of the State Migration Service, Advisor to the State Migration Service II, stressed that the Regional Migration Training Center is an effective platform in terms of contributing to capacity building in research and education on migration issues, as well as strengthening interagency cooperation at the regional level. At the same time, he expressed confidence that the center will become a specialized training center that will train highly qualified specialists in the field of migration on the basis of modern training methods.
Afterwards, the opening speech of the Head of the UN Office in Azerbaijan, Mr. Vladimir Georgiev, as well as the report of Isabel Astor, an international expert involved in the project, were heard.
One of the main priorities of the center is to create a network of professional experts, so the event was attended by employees from higher education institutions.
Sumgayit State University was represented at the seminar by Sadagat Fatullayeva, Head of the Department of International Cooperation and Foreign Students. The event will end on November 26.
