An event called "A Pearl" dedicated to the 880th anniversary of Nizami Ganjavi was organized by the Faculty of History and Geography and the Student Youth Organization in connection with the proclamation of 2021 as the "Year of Nizami Ganjavi" in our country.

The event was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of History and Geography, Professor Adil Bakhshaliyev, who informed the participants about the activities carried out in the framework of the "Year of Nizami Ganjavi." He noted that President Ilham Aliyev's announcement of 2021 as the "Year of Nizami Ganjavi" is a practical expression of the special attention and great care of the independent Azerbaijani state to the promotion of our classical literary heritage, prominent figures of our national literature and culture. “The great Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi is one of the rare personalities who opened a bright page in world literature. Speaking about the importance of studying the works of Nizami Ganjavi, a valuable part of the national heritage of our people, inculcating them in the younger generation, the dean spoke about the importance of a series of events held at the university in this direction”.

Ali Rzazadeh, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Azerbaijani Language and its Teaching Methods, Parviz Jafarov, Senior Lecturer of the Department of History of Azerbaijan and Eastern European Peoples spoke about Nizami Ganjavi's work and his important role in the history of world and Eastern literature. They said that all his life and rich literary activity at that time was connected not only with the largest city of Azerbaijan and the Caucasus, but also with Ganja, known as an important cultural center of the Middle East. The poet has lived and created here all his life and has given the world's poetry valuable pearls of word art.

Students of the faculty: Orkhan Dadashov spoke on "Nizami and a couple of words", Vasif Mirzayev and Elsevar Jafarov staged a conversation between Nizami and his student Zeyd about perfection. It was noted that every word of Nizami is "A pearl".

The event, which was met with great interest, continued with a discussion of the moral and educational ideas contained in the works of the great poet.

At the end of the event, the novel "Sensiz" (performed by Bulbul) was performed.
