SSU HOSTS A BOOK EXHIBITION AS PART OF THE "YEAR OF NIZAMI GANJAVI"
2021 marks the 880th anniversary of the birth of the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Nizami Ganjavi. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has declared 2021 the Year of Nizami Ganjavi in our country. In this regard, Sumgayit State University has developed a Plan of events for the "Year of Nizami Ganjavi." In accordance with the Plan of events, many scientific seminars, round tables, conferences, knowledge contests, debates, poetry and drawing competitions, art readings, etc. have been held at SSU to study the rich heritage of Nizami Ganjavi and promote it among students.
On December 8, a book exhibition entitled "The Power of the Word - Nizami" dedicated to the 880th anniversary of the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Nizami Ganjavi was organized in the Great Assembly Hall of Sumgayit State University following the quarantine rules.
The exhibition was jointly organized by the Scientific Library of Sumgayit State University and the Central Library named after Samad Vurgun of Sumgayit.
The exhibition includes works reflecting the life and work of the great poet Nizami Ganjavi, Azerbaijani culture and the culture of the peoples of the Middle East in general, which opened a new page in the history of public artistic thought. There is a collection of articles titled "Poet of Love and Cognition" published on the occasion of the 880th anniversary of Nizami Ganjavi by the decision of the Council dated 07.07.2021 and a book "Music world of Nizami Ganjavi" by Afag Ganiyeva, a teacher of the Faculty of Philology.
The exhibition aroused great interest among the participants.
