The Memorial Day of national leader Heydar Aliyev was marked in all faculties with the organization of the Student Youth Organization of Sumgayit State University.

First, the memory of the national leader was commemorated with a minute of silence.

Speakers spoke about the glorious life of our great leader, his historical services to our country. They noted that the great figure in the history of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, while leading Azerbaijan during the former Soviet Union and our independence, also paid special attention to the issue of army building. During the years of Heydar Aliyev's leadership in Azerbaijan, as a result of his far-sighted domestic and foreign policy, the prestige of our country increased, comprehensive development was achieved, and our independence was ensured to be eternal and irreversible. Today, as in other areas, the successful completion of the work of our National Leader in the field of army building by our President, Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, a worthy successor of the liberation of our lands, is the greatest victory of Azerbaijan with rich statehood traditions. The unity of the people and the government has ensured our glorious victory and the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict on the basis of the territorial integrity of our country.

Then, poems dedicated to national leader Heydar Aliyev were performed by students. A video reflecting the rich life of the Great Leader was shown.

It should be noted that deans of faculties, teachers and students took part in the events dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of national leader Heydar Aliyev.
