AN ONLINE MEETING OF THE INTERAGENCY WORKING GROUP ON COOPERATION IN THE FIELD OF EDUCATION BETWEEN THE REPUBLIC OF AZERBAIJAN AND THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION
On December 14, 2021, an online meeting of the Russian-Azerbaijani interagency working group on cooperation in the field of education was held with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
The agenda of the meeting includes the development of inter-university cooperation (dual diploma, organization of joint departments, etc.), mutual recognition of educational documents, holding the III Forum of the Russian-Azerbaijani University Association, exchange of experience in the context of ensuring the sustainability of education during the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization of training courses for pedagogical staff, teaching Russian in secondary schools and other issues.
The meeting was attended by the rector of Sumgayit State University, Professor Elkhan Huseynov and the Vice-Rector for International Relations, Associate Professor Gafar Atayev. Rector Elkhan Huseynov spoke about the activities and importance of the Russian-Azerbaijani University Association and the work done within the Association. He proposed to hold the III Forum of the Russian-Azerbaijani University Association in person at the level of the Ministries of Education of both countries. The proposal was positively assessed by the delegation of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.
