THE INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE ON "SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT PROBLEMS OF ECONOMICS IN THE INFORMATION SOCIETY" KICKS OFF AT SSU
On December 16, Sumgayit State University and Yildiz Technical University of Turkey jointly organized an international scientific conference entitled "Sustainable Development Problems of Economics in the information society" in online format.
The conference was attended by Chairman of the Union of Economists of Azerbaijan, member of Milli Majlis, academician, Ziyad Samadzade, Director General of the Institute of Economics of ANAS, Professor Nazim Imanov, a group of economists from our republic and many countries: Turkey, Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, China, Iran and Uzbekistan.
The conference was opened by the rector of the university, Professor Elkhan Huseynov, who greeted the rector of Yildiz Technical University, Professor Tamer Yilmaz and guests, spoke about the importance of the conference and expressed satisfaction with the cooperation between the universities of the two brotherly countries. He spoke about the mutual benefits of successful joint activities between YTU and SSU. He noted that Sumgayit State University is expanding its scientific ties day by day, taking important successful steps in the direction of teacher-student mobility. Taking into account the need to deepen the integration of science and education, to expand cooperation in this field, SSU closely cooperates with many leading universities in the world and Turkey in order to train highly qualified personnel.
At the same time, the rector praised the political and moral support provided by the brotherly country during the 44-day war, and expressed his gratitude to the Turkish people. He noted that Turkey was with us in this war, providing moral and diplomatic support. The whole world has seen once again that our brotherhood is unshakable.
Rector of Yildiz Technical University Tamer Yilmaz greeted the rector of SSU and conference participants. He expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with SSU and the international scientific conference they organized. He said that more useful projects will be implemented between SSU and YTU. During the meeting, Tamer Yilmaz gave information about the training areas implemented at Yildiz Technical University, which has a 110-year history of development. He said that currently 37,000 students study at the university, the university has 11 faculties, and each faculty has several specialties. He noted that the university cooperates with 661 universities around the world, 6 of which are Azerbaijani universities. Emphasizing that Yildiz Technical University has the largest
technopark among Turkish universities, T. Yilmaz also spoke about his rich experience in establishing effective cooperation with industry.
Rector Tamer Yilmaz also noted that despite the difficulties created by the great powers throughout history, the peoples of Turkey and Azerbaijan have always stood by each other. Azerbaijan's joy is our joy, our freedom is our freedom, our sorrow is our sorrow!
Chairman of the Union of Economists of Azerbaijan, member of the Milli Majlis, academician Ziyad Samadzade and Director General of the Institute of Economics of ANAS, Professor Nazim Imanov thanked for the high-level organization of the international conference and spoke about the importance of the conference. They noted that independent Azerbaijan is strengthening year by year and developing rapidly. Thanks to the economic policy pursued, Azerbaijan's macroeconomic development has been sustained and a growth rate has been achieved that many countries have not been able to achieve for a long time. Today, as a result of the rapid development and numerous achievements in the economy, Azerbaijan has entered a qualitatively new stage - the stage of modernization.
Afterwards the following scholars made presentations in the conference: Academician Ziyad Samadzadeh on "National priorities of Azerbaijan's economic development strategy and factors and opportunities for their implementation", Murat Anil Merjan, Professor of Economics Faculty, Yildiz Technical University on "Impacts of immigrants on family relations", Professor of the Department of World Economy of Moscow State University Mikhail Kulakov "New phenomena in the development of the financial sector in the conditions of formation of digital economy", Head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Monopoly Regulation of the Institute of Economics of ANAS, Professor Tarbiz Aliyev "Directions for increasing the role of entrepreneurship in strengthening the economy in the context of the information society", Associate Professor Galib Huseynov, Head of the Department of Business Organization and Management, Sumgayit State University "The role of information and communication technologies in the economic development of the country".
Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management of Yildiz Technical University, Professor Halit Keskin, Deputy Dean, Professor Emel Esen, Head of the Department of World Economy, Baku State University, Professor Hajiaga Rustambeyov, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management of Nakhchivan State University, Associate Professor Ashraf Alakbarov, Ganja State University Head of the Department of Economics, Associate Professor Zakir Ahmadov, Head of the Department of the Institute of Information Technology of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Associate Professor Alovsat Aliyev delivered speech in the conference. They noted that holding such conferences is very useful.
Because here scientists, economists express their opinions, share their experiences, and all this gives effective results because it serves the common interest. They praised the work of both universities for the effective organization of the conference.
Executive Secretary Galib Huseynov, Head of the Department of Business Organization and Management, informed about the further work of the conference. He noted that the conference's organizing committee received 188 reports and theses from 19 universities of 8 foreign countries (Russia, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Belarus, People's Republic of China, Islamic Republic of Iran, Uzbekistan) and 35 scientific and higher education institutions of the republic. Of these, 142 reports and theses were checked by the Program Committee with anti-plagiarism program and selected and included in the agenda of the Conference. The conference will continue for two days in 8 sections.
