On December 22, Sumgayit State University hosted a conference entitled "Master writer - an outstanding folklorist" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of People's Writer Aziza Jafarzade.

The conference was attended by professors and students of the university, the writer's son Turan Ibrahimov, screenwriter Hafiz Ataxanli, chairman of the Sumgayit branch of the Writers' Union of Azerbaijan Gulnara Jamaladdin and employees of the Sumgayit Central Library.

The conference was opened by the Vice-Rector for Humanitarian Affairs of the University, Associate Professor Ramiz Huseynov, who conveyed the greetings of the Rector, Professor Elkhan Huseynov and spoke about the rich work of the prominent writer. He noted that the work of People's Writer Aziza Jafarzadeh has a special place in the twentieth century Azerbaijani literature. Each of his works has played the role of a carrier of patriotic and heroic feelings. These works are still among the literature read by readers today. Aziza Jafarzadeh also rendered commendable services to Azerbaijani science as a research scientist. His works, which are the result of intensive scientific research in the field of classical Azerbaijani literature, especially in the study of our oral literary heritage, have always attracted the interest of the scientific community. Aziza khanum was able to successfully combine literary and scientific creativity with pedagogical activity. As a professor at the Faculty of Philology of Baku State University, he made a worthy contribution to the training of scientific personnel in Azerbaijan for many years.

Professor Avtandil Mammadov, Head of the Department of Azerbaijani and Foreign Literature, “Suffering Scientist-Teacher”, Gunel Zeynalli, “Aziza Jafarzadeh and Folklore”, Afat Rafiyeva, Head of the Department, “Image of Literary Figures in Aziza Jafarzadeh's Novels”, 4th year student of the Faculty of Philology Agayeva spoke on "History and modernity in the novel" Sultan of Love "", Doctor of Philosophy in Oil and Gas Development and Technical Sciences Turan Ibrahimov (son of the writer) "Memories of Aziza Jafarzade." They spoke about Aziza Jafarzadeh's creativity, teaching activities, charitable work, and more writing activities. The speakers talked about the trilogy dedicated to SA Shirvani, "I have a voice in the world", "Return to the homeland" about Nishat Shirvani, "Remember me" about the friendship of M.A Sabir and A. Sahhat. These works have a special place in Azerbaijani literature. which were valued as artistic examples. They noted that the anniversary event is a celebration of respect for writers in the person of Aziza Jafarzadeh, as well as an important and commendable event in the promotion of Azerbaijani ideas.

In the end, the son of the prominent writer Turan Ibrahimov thanked the leadership of SSU for organizing the anniversary event. Turan Ibrahimov informed about the creative process of A.Jafarzadeh, manuscripts preserved in his personal archive, published books. He noted that the author's latest work "Sultan of Love" was recorded on a dictaphone and in his own voice, and clarified the issues of interest to the participants.

Turan Ibahimov donated many books of the author, as well as the first twelve volumes of the newly published "Selected Works" to the Scientific Library of the University.

At the conference, writer-screenwriter Hafiz Ataxanli, chairman of the Sumgayit branch of the EBU Gulnara Jamaladdin, employee of the Sumgayit Central Library Nazkhanim Jafarova and other participants expressed interesting views on the work of literary scholar Aziza Jafarzadeh and shared their memories about him.

Then a video with Aziza Jafarzadeh's valuable thoughts was shown.

During the conference, a slide show of photographs depicting the life and work of People's Writer Aziza Jafarzadeh was shown.

An exhibition of works by People's Writer Aziza Jafarzadeh was organized.
