On December 24, Sumgayit State University hosted an event titled "Solidarity Day of the People Proud of the Glorious Victory Day" with the participation of a group of students majoring in Sociology and Political Science, organized by the Student Youth Organization and faculty of the Faculty of History and Geography.

At first, the participants of the event observed a minute of silence in memory of the souls of our martyrs who died for the freedom of our lands. Then the National Anthem was played.

The event was opened by the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of History and Geography, Associate Professor Javid Mamiyev, who congratulated the participants on December 31 - the Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis and the New Year, and conveyed his best wishes. Associate Professor Javid Mamiyev spoke about the services of national leader Heydar Aliyev in celebrating this significant date. He noted that after the return of the great leader to political power in Azerbaijan, the independent Republic of Azerbaijan declared that it is the guarantor of the interests of Azerbaijanis around the world, and purposeful work has begun with Azerbaijanis living abroad. The Deputy Dean added that solidarity is the first herald of unity of the Azerbaijani people, both today and in the future. Even after years and centuries, it is impossible to violate the solidarity of the Azerbaijani people, who put the factors of conscience, honor and unity above all else, and to interfere with external factors. Today, for 44 days, the whole world has witnessed the pride, invincibility, unity, strength of the army and the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev of the Azerbaijani people.

At the event, a student of the Faculty of History and Geography Orkhan Dadashov made a presentation on "Solidarity Day of the people proud of the glorious history of Victory."

Students: Ali Aliyev "Exclusive traces left by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev on the path of solidarity", Igbal Sadigov "The role of solidarity in our lives", Aslan Yusifzade "The role of the diaspora and lobbying in our solidarity" were heard. It was noted that the successes of Azerbaijan, both on the battlefield and in the diplomatic sphere, and the historic victory achieved once again showed that there is no obstacle to the unity of the state and the people. The expression in the famous proverb of the fathers "If there is one hand, the mountain will play" was once again confirmed by the victory of Azerbaijan in the Patriotic War.

Then the video "Way of Solidarity" was shown.

Afterwards, a debate was organized between the students to exchange views on the ideas of solidarity and possible steps to be taken in this direction.

It should be noted that employees of the Department of Philosophy and Sociology, including Nargiz Yusifova, were especially active in organizing the event. They noted that Azerbaijan is a country of unity, solidarity and trust. May the unconquerable solidarity of our country never be broken !!
