An "Open Day" was held on January 12 on the exam session of the autumn semester of the 2021-2022 academic year with the participation of members of the Public Control and Advisory Council, parents and media representatives under the rector of Sumgayit State University.

First, the delegation visited the memorial of students and graduates erected in the courtyard of the university and laid flowers in front of the monument. The souls of our martyrs who died for the liberty and territorial integrity of our homeland were commemorated with a minute of silence.

Ramiz Huseynov, Vice-Rector for Humanitarian Affairs greeted the delegation. The Vice-Rector gave detailed information about the organization and course of the autumn exam session, purposeful measures taken to ensure objectivity and transparency in the examination process and the rules of the exam. He noted that the exams are held in accordance with the order of the Minister of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. F-570 dated 10.12.2021. He stressed during the examinations the importance of strict adherence to the "Temporary Rules for the organization of the teaching and learning process in educational institutions operating in the Republic" “Methodical instructions on prevention of coronavirus infection (COVID-19) ” prepared by the Medical Territorial Units Management Association and approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 332 dated September 10, 2020 “Azerbaijan during special quarantine regime.

The vice-rector also noted that the autumn exam session at Sumgayit State University is planned to be held from January 5 to February 2, 2022. In order to ensure the timely and prompt resolution of complaints that may arise during the examination session held at the University, the Appeals Commission was established, as well as the Examination Headquarters to monitor the examination session and promptly investigate and eliminate complaints that may arise among students.

It should be noted that in order to operatively monitor the examination session of the autumn semester, the rector"s officials: Vice-Rector for International Relations, Associate Professor Gafar Atayev, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, Professor Ramazan Mammadov were appointed to the relevant faculties.

In order to effectively organize the preparation of students for exams, the University"s Scientific Library has been transferred to an intensified mode and operates every day from 08:30 to 17:30. The electronic library in the scientific library is at the disposal of students.

The Vice-Rector also noted that during the session, "Open Doors" days will be organized regularly with the participation of the University"s Public Oversight and Advisory Board, parents and community members. The rector of the university, Professor Elkhan Huseynov, personally supervises the exams. During the session, the rector is interested in the attitude of students to the exams and gives instructions. The vice-rector also noted that the exams are held in the same way at Sumgayit State Technical College under Sumgayit State University.

Then the university administration, parents and media representatives observed the examination process in different auditoriums and inquired about the attitude of students to the exams. The students noted that all the questions covered the topics during the semester.
