On January 31, an online training was held at Heydar Aliyev School of Sumgayit State University about "the role of Heydar Aliyev"s policy in the formation of modern Azerbaijani youth". The event was attended by the university administration, deans of faculties, deputy deans, heads of departments and other relevant departments, representatives of the student public organizations and active students, as well as the head of the Youth and Sports Department of Sumgayit Elgun Humbatov.

Opening the event, the rector of the university, Professor Elkhan Huseynov, congratulated the youth on this significant day, wished them good health, long life, happiness, great achievements in education and social activities, spoke in detail about the importance and work done for their development. He noted that the foundation of the state youth policy in our country was laid by the founder of the modern independent state of Azerbaijan, national leader of our people Heydar Aliyev. Today, we can say with great confidence that youth policy in our country is one of the main directions of state policy. As a result of the successful continuation of this policy by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani youth is now actively involved in all spheres of public life. In recent years, important measures have been taken to promote young people in public administration, to increase their socio-political activity, and numerous projects are implemented. First Vice President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva pays special attention and care to the spiritual and physical development of young people, increasing their scientific and intellectual potential, and forming them as true citizens. Azerbaijani youth is always in the spotlight of the state. We can say with great satisfaction that the students of SSU are patriotic and modern-minded young people. During the Great Patriotic War, they were distinguished by their heroism both on the front and in the rear, and took actively part in writing the chronicle of the historical heroism of the Azerbaijani people. In the 44-day Patriotic War, thanks to the direct leadership, invincible will and determination of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, the heroic Azerbaijani Army won a glorious and brilliant victory over the enemy. The fulfillment of this glorious mission, the historic victory was achieved due to the fact that Azerbaijan is a strong state, has a strong economy, a strong army, and most importantly, the unity of our people around the President, Muzaffar Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. The students of Sumgayit State University also rose to the peak of martyrdom in the life-and-death struggle of our people with the enemy and in the protection of the territorial integrity of our Motherland. We respectfully commemorate all the martyred heroes of the Motherland, and pray to God to heal our veterans!

The rector also said that young people should believe in their abilities and use the conditions created for them effectively.

Elgun Humbatov, Chief of the Youth and Sports Department of Sumgayit, made a report on "The role of Heydar Aliyev"s policy in the formation of modern Azerbaijani youth", congratulated the youth on the significant day and conveyed his best wishes to them. He said that the development of youth is one of the important components of the state"s social policy. Youth policy is a set of consistent and purposeful measures for the dynamic development of youth. Azerbaijani youth has always fulfilled their responsibilities and was at the forefront of the ongoing processes in the country. They take an active part in the socio-political, socio-economic and cultural life of the country. Thousands of young people have successfully represented our country at international events, and thanks to the victories of our athletes, they raise the flag of Azerbaijan abroad.

Elgun Humbatov also noted that Azerbaijan"s youth policy pays special attention to the development of sports and increasing its popularity. Thanks to the strong will and great efforts of President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan has become one of the world"s leading sports countries.

They made a report on the role of youth in the public life of Sumgayit State University Amirkhan Isayev, Associate Professor of the Department of History of Azerbaijan and Eastern Europe, Head of the Career Center, “The importance of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the youth in public administration”, Matanat Pirguliyeva ”, 4th course student of the Faculty of History and Geography, Deputy Chairman of the Student Youth Organization Emil Mammadov ”, 3rd course student of the Faculty of Mathematics Nazrin Khurshudova made a report on“ A worthy successor of the Great Leader"s youth policy - Ilham Aliyev ” . They noted that the youth policy, founded by national leader Heydar Aliyev, has now become a key area of state policy under the care of President Ilham Aliyev. The consistent steps taken in the field of youth policy in recent years, the draft laws and state programs are positively reflected in the formation, development, education and intellectual level of Azerbaijani youth. Today, youth policy in our country is experiencing a qualitatively new stage.
