An online meeting of the Scientific Council was held at Sumgayit State Universoty on February 8.

Rector Professor Elkhan Huseynov greeted the members of the Scientific Council, faculty, cultural events, national and international scientific conferences which held at SSU gave detailed information effective organization of the teaching and examination process, improving the quality of education, strengthening the material and technical base, as well as about the preparation for the exam session of the spring semester and stressed the issues on the agenda. The struggle against COVID-19 infection continues, the rector called on the university"s students and faculty to take a more active part in the vaccination process at the appropriate doses and to comply with the requirements of the special quarantine regime.

Rector Professor Elkhan Huseynov congratulated Ramiz Huseynov, Vice-Rector for Humanitarian Affairs, on his election as chairman of the YAP Sumgayit city organization on behalf of the university administration and staff, and wished him success in his new position. He noted with pride that the chairman of the YAP Sumgayit city organization is a representative and alumnus of our university. Then the rector congratulated associate professor Zafar Huseynov on his appointment to the post of advisor to the rector and wished him new creative success in his future activities.

Faig Shirinov, Director of the Methodological Center for Undergraduate Education, Sabir Khalilov, Head of the Department of Doctoral and Master"s Degrees at the Master"s Level, Associate Professor Matanat Pirguliyeva informed about the results of the examination session of the autumn semester of the 2021/2022 academic year and preparation for the spring semester .They spoke about scientific activities and work with the students the examination session of the autumn semester of the 2021/2022 academic year, taking into account the order of the Ministry of Education No. F-570 dated 10.12.2021, the specific tasks given by the order on SDU dated 13.12.2021, the state of their implementation, the quality of education. They noted that "Open Door" days were regularly held during the exam session. During the "Open Door" days, members of the Public Oversight and Advisory Board under the rector of SSU, parents and media representatives watched the examination session in different auditoriums and inquired about the attitude of the students to the examination. They thanked the university administration for ensuring transparency and objectivity in the assessment of the students" knowledge.

Professor Mukhtar Samadov, Scientific Secretary, spoke on the implementation of the Action Plan for 2021 in connection with the implementation of the Strategic Development Plan of SSU. He noted that quite effective and productive work was done on the Action Plan for 2021. In particular, the overhaul and reconstruction of the dormitory was carried out at a high level. He noted that given the persistence of some issues in the Action Plan for 2021, it was considered expedient to include them in the Action Plan for 2022.

Rector"s counsellor Zafar Huseynov informed about the Action Plan for 2022 in connection with the implementation of the Strategic Development Plan of SSU.

The rector noted that the control over the implementation of the Action Plan for 2022 was entrusted to the rector"s counsellor, docent Zafar Huseynov.

Professor Mukhtar Samadov, Scientific Secretary, informed about the granting of the right to publish textbooks. He noted that the Scientific Council included 11 textbooks, 1 of which is a textbook and 10 are subject programs. Following the discussions, the textbooks were allowed to be published.
