On February 15, the 60th anniversary of Professor Javanshir Mammadov who dedicated his life to science, will be completed.

For this purpose, following the quarantine rules, the rector of the university, Professor Elkhan Huseynov received the head of the Department of Process Automation of the Faculty of Engineering, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Javanshir Mammadov. He congratulated the jubilee on his scientific and pedagogical activity as a scientist and pedagogue. He said that the professor, who has devoted most of his life to the teaching of engineering, scientific research in this field and the training of qualified personnel, is the author of dozens of textbooks, manuals and books. Rector Professor Elkhan Huseynov also noted that he was also active in training highly qualified personnel in our country as a successor of the scientific school of Professor Firudin Mammadov, corresponding member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, who has worked as a senior lecturer, associate professor, dean, Sumgayit State University since 1968. At the end of his speech, the rector presented professor Javanshir Mammadov with an honorary diploma and a money award for his long-term scientific-pedagogical and public activities and on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of his birth.

It should be noted that Javanshir Firudun oglu Mammadov is the head of the Process Automation Department of the Engineering Faculty of Sumgayit State University, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor. He was born on February 15, 1962 in an intellectual family in Sumgayit. He got his primary education at secondary school number 5 in Sumgayit . Since 1997, he has been working as an assistant, senior lecturer, associate professor at the Department of Information Technology and Programming of SSU, and since 2011 as a professor. Since 2017, he is the head of the Process Automation Department. In 2006 and 2013, he was awarded honorary diplomas by the Free Trade Union of Educators and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In 2017, on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of Sumgayit State University, he was awarded the badge of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in November 2019, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Sumgayit, he was awarded the Medal of Tereggi. It should be noted that he has been elected a member of the committee the organization of the Republican competition "Scientists of Tomorrow" held in Azerbaijan on 23-24.02.2012, 2013 and 2014, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021, organized by the ISEF International Science and Engineering Forum of the United States. He leads Intel in Sumgayit, the preparatory committee for the ISEF "Scientists of Tomorrow" competition for high school students. He was awarded 11 gold, 33 silver and 45 bronze medals from scientific projects, 1 grant (computer science) and a special award of Baku State University. The project he led was demonstrated in 2012 at the ISEF Scientific Forum in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. His computer science project was demonstrated in 2014 in Los Angeles. In 2013, INTEL was awarded a Diploma of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan for active participation in the Republican competition "Scientists of Tomorrow" ISEF, in 2019, a certificate of completion of a refresher course on "Commercialization of research results" at St. Petersburg State University of Economics.
