OUR STUDENTS VISITED THE MONUMENT TO THE VICTIMS OF THE KHOJALY TRAGEDY IN SUMGAYIT
The 30th anniversary of the Khojaly tragedy is commemorated with deep sorrow at Sumgayit State University, as everywhere in the country. Events dedicated to the anniversary of the tragedy are organized at the faculties, round tables, an exhibition of students' handicrafts. As a continuation of these events, on February 24 at the initiative of Sumgayit State University Student Trade Union and Student Youth Organizations, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Khojaly tragedy, our students visited the monument to the victims of the Khojaly tragedy in Sumgayit.
The participants of the event visited the Alley of Martyrs in Sumgayit and expressed their respect and esteem for the unforgettable memory of our martyrs.
Chairman of the Student Trade Union Nemat Ibayev stressed that the Khojaly tragedy which took place on the night of February 25-26, 1992, was one of the gravest crimes against not only the people of Azerbaijan, but also all humanity. He said that the victims of Khojaly were avenged in the 44-day war and their blood was not left on the ground.
