The exhibition of students" handicrafts and paintings dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide was organized in the lobby of the Assembly Hall of Sumgayit State University on February 25.
Works by local and foreign students studying at the university dedicated to the Khojaly genocide were demonstrated in the exhibition. The paintings depicted the horrors of that night, the bloodshed of hundreds of people, the enemy"s relentlessness, and the fact that an infidel Armenian shot an elderly mother, an old man, and a breastfed baby that night.
After getting acquainted with the exhibition, rector professor Elkhan Huseynov noted that the February 26 Khojaly tragedy was an unthinkable crime not only against our people, but also humanity . He said the exhibition was held to commemorate the victims of the Khojaly genocide, to convey the truth about the history of Azerbaijan to the younger generation, to raise the spirit of national patriotism among students and to identify talented students.
The rector recommended the youth not to forget the glorious historical days of Azerbaijan, the tragedies and stressed that the works of art dedicated to the Khojaly tragedy are an important factor in this work and thanked the students for their work.
