The next online meeting of the rectorate of Sumgayit State University was held on March 3.

Rector professor Elkhan Huseynov greeted the participants, informed about the issues on the agenda and spoke about the development of the university in its educational and scientific activities. He concerned issues that serve to improve the quality of education, strengthen scientific activity, develop human resources and further improve the working conditions of teachers. The rector said that in the current pandemic situation, the organization of students' education is in the center of special attention, and the educational process is organized at a high level.

Then the discussion of the issues on the agenda was begun.

On the first issue of the agenda, the deans of the faculties spoke on "Provision of new specialties at the University with teaching aids and technical means."It said that it is planned to enroll the students on the specialities of "Computer science teaching" at the faculty of mathematics, "Mechatronics and Robotics" at the faculty of engineering, "Food engineering" at the faculty of chemistry and biology, "Corrective education" at the faculty of philology and "Music Teaching", International Relations ”and“ Social Work ”,“ State and Municipal Administration ”and“ Tourism Organization ”at the Faculty of Economics and Management.

Speakers also noted that taking into account in the student admission prognosis timely preparation of teaching aids for new specialties, curriculum, subject programs, syllabus, teaching aids and other necessary materials, identification of teachers for subjects to be taught in new specialties have been assigned to deans of the faculties and the heads of the deparments.

The head of the department of Process Automation prof. Javanshir Mammadov informed about the results of the XI Republican Competition "Scientists of Tomorrow . He noted that the republican competition "Scientists of Tomorrow" has been held in Azerbaijan since 2012. 36 projects submitted by Sumgayit State University to the XI Republican competition "Scientists of Tomorrow" passed to the final stage of the competition, 9 projects on the specialities engineering, biology, ecology, chemistry, medicine and health and physics were awarded a prize.

Rector thanked prof. Javanshir Mammadov head of the department of Process Automation, head of the center for application of Scientific Research Innovation for his activity Scientists of Tomorrow ” in submitting SSU projects to Startup and other innovation competitions.

Head of the personnel department Nofal Ahmadov, head of the education department at the Training-Methodical Center Sabir Behbudov and deans of the faculties spoke about the sanitary-epidemiological measures taken at SSU in connection with the coronavirus pandemic and the participation of staff and students in the vaccination process.. It was noted that in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19) infection in the country and its possible complications, the Cabinet of Ministers decided on February 24, 2022 (№52) the special quarantine regime has been extended till May 1, 2022. In this regard, in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection at SSU, regular disinfection is carried out in all three educational buildings of the university, sanitary-epidemiological measures are always in focus and implemented. In particular, as a result of effective and productive work of the teaching methodical center and deans of faculties in the field of vaccination of full-time and part-time students at SSU, the majority of students were vaccinated. The results of vaccination are compiled in the form of an excellent statistical analysis.
