On April 11, 2018, Mr. Ilham Aliyev was re-elected President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, gaining the support of the absolute majority of the people. The presidential election reflected the will of the Azerbaijani people. Four years have passed since that historic event. In this regard, an event was organized by the Faculty of History and Geography of the University and the Student Youth Organization.

First, the souls of the martyrs who died in the First and Second Karabakh Wars, as well as on the way to the Motherland and the people were commemorated with a minute of silence, then the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played.

Opening the event, Dean of the Faculty of History and Geography, Professor Adil Bakhshaliyev spoke about the presidential activities of President Ilham Aliyev, his multifaceted and tireless activities for the comprehensive development of Azerbaijan during his rule, the historic Karabakh Victory and other important moments. He noted that 4 years ago, the people of Azerbaijan once again showed great confidence in Mr. Ilham Aliyev and voted for the future development, stability and progress of our country. Over the years, Mr. Ilham Aliyev has strengthened Azerbaijan and turned it into a powerful country. Today, Azerbaijan also amazes the world with its rapid restoration and reconstruction work in the liberated territories. During his numerous visits to the liberated areas, president Ilham Aliyev inaugurates strategic infrastructure facilities, lays the foundations for new ones  and builds new roads and power plants in these areas. The people of Azerbaijan have always trusted and believed in their leader and supported him. Thanks to this mutual trust, President Ilham Aliyev will continue to lead the people from summit to summit, from victory to victory.

Javid Mamiyev, associate professor of the Faculty of History and Geography, Abulfaz Mammadov, Orkhan Dadashov, second-year students of the faculty spoke, emphasizing the great achievements of president Ilham Aliyev, especially the last 4 years. , talked about huge projects on a global scale. They noted that the Karabakh Victory won under the leadership of Muzaffar Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev was written in golden letters in the heroic history of our people. Azerbaijan has become a victorious country .At the end of the event, a video reflecting the life and work of Mr. Ilham Aliyev was shown.
