On April 28, the Republican scientific conference on "The place and role of pedagogy and psychology in the formation of the teacher's personality in the context of globalization" started   in an  online format at Sumgayit State University.

The conference was attended by professors, doctoral students and masters from higher education institutions operating in our country.

Opening the conference professor Ramazan Mammadov vice-rector for Science and Innovations conveyed the greetings of rector professor Elkhan Huseynov to the participants and spoke about the relevance of the conference topic and the positive factors influencing the formation of the teacher's personality in the development of the nation. He noted that in the context of renewal and globalization, the rapid development of information, the expansion of mass communication and publicity, these or other processes in society affect the formation of the teacher's personality. In this context, the formation of the teacher's personality has become one of the current problems of modern pedagogy and psychology. That is why the main purpose of the conference is to determine the role and place of pedagogy and psychology in the formation of teacher personality, teacher training, raising the level of teaching, improving the professionalism and competence of teachers.

The vice-rector also noted that the role of the teacher in the development of society throughout history is irreplaceable. In modern society, a teacher is a mature person with high theoretical knowledge, culture and enlightenment, pedagogical ethics and board. A teacher is such a wise person that every parent trusts him to bring up his children. The teacher cultivates this "valuable wealth" in the process of pedagogical activity. Therefore, the teacher who shapes our youth as a person must have a high personality.

In all historical periods prominent personalities and statesmen have highly valued the teaching profession and considered teaching to be the most honorable profession in society. The words of the genius of the XX century, the great statesman Heydar Aliyev highly  valued the teaching profession and a statement about it  was distinguished ."I do not know a higher name on earth than a teacher!" These valuable words stem from the fact that our Great Leader was closely connected with the teaching profession was well acquainted with this profession, his  first profession  and appoinment was teaching.

Professor of Baku State University, doctor of Pedagogical Sciences Hikmet Alizadeh “Two pages of teacher portraits”, professor of Baku State University, doctor of Psychology Elnara Shafiyeva “Influence of bulling on school personality formation”, associate professor of Sumgayit State University, doctor of philosophy in Pedagogy and Aytekin Mammadova head of the department of Psychology on “Teacher Professionalism in Inclusive Education” made presentations. Speaking about modern scientific approaches to the topic, the speakers gave detailed information about the personality factor that played an important role in the development of modern society. They noted that professionalism and competence in pedagogical activity were main qualities  that characterized a teacher as a real creator, innovator and professional teacher.

Executive secretary, head of the department of Pedagogy and psychology, associate professor Aytekin Mammadova informed about the further work of the conference. She said  that 146 people, including 22 universities, colleges and even secondary schools sent  their articles   to participate in the conference.  19articles  of them were rejected due to plagiarism and the authors were informed about it. Articles by 127 authors were considered acceptable and included in the conference program. The conference would continue its work on 5 sections for two days.
