An exhibition of students' paintings and handicrafts dedicated to "Shusha Year" was organized at SSU
On May 19, Sumgayit State University organized an exhibition-competition of students" paintings and handicrafts on the theme "Pearls of Shusha culture" dedicated to the "Year of Shusha".
The exhibition organized in the assembly hall students" handicrafts and paintings were viewed.
Elmar Khalilov, vice-rector for social issues and public relations talked about the series of events, exhibitions and competitions organized at the university in connection with the "Year of Shusha", and noted that the events will contribute to the promotion of the heritage of our cultural capital, he spoke about the importance of the exhibition, the history and antiquity of Shusha, the beating heart of Azerbaijan. He said that the presentation of the crown of Karabakh based on the thoughts of the students, through the language of colors, and finding its expression in the paintings once again reveals the love for the Motherland. The declaration of 2022 by the Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev as the "Year of Shusha" further strengthens the Victory and historic Victory we achieved in the 44-day Patriotic War, both at the political and diplomatic level. Of course, this creates a solid foundation for future victories on all platforms. There is no doubt that the great importance and significance of this for achieving peace and reaching the intended strategic goals is undeniable.
The vice-rector also emphasized that the rapid development of the of Shusha in the 70s of the last century is closely related to the name of the national leader Heydar Aliyev. Special decisions on the development of the city were made at the initiative of the Great Leader.
Then, as a jury, Nizami Dadashov designer of Sumgayit State Drama Theater , Arif Muzaffarov artist of the theater, artist of the thater Mushvig Aslanov, and artist Subhana Mammadli, designer of the Student and Youth Club of SSU selected the students" handicrafts by means of secret voting on a 10-point syste and evaluated the works of art, expressing that the love of the homeland, love of the country, and the joy of victory were perfectly embodied in the presented works, they stated that these events are of great importance both in revealing new talents and in the growth of young people in a patriotic spirit.
The exhibition aroused great interest of the participants.
According to the final results of the competition Jeyran Mammadova a third-year student of the faculty of Engineering, and Malak Bairamova, a third-year student of the faculty of Chemistry and biology took the first place, Nurana Abbasova, a second-year student of the faculty of Economics and management took the second place, Anar Guluzadeh and Sakhavat Jabbarli second-year students of the faculty of Economics and management took the third place.
