On June 21, the  meeting of rectorate of  Sumgayit State University was held.

Rector professor Elkhan Huseynov greeted the participants of the meeting, drove  to the participants' attention the issues on the agenda and spoke about the development of the university's educational and scientific activities.

Deans of the faculty spoke about the status of preparation of educational documents for the new specialties planned for the 2022/2023 academic year and the distribution of the study load and noted that the distribution of the study load for the 2022/2023 academic year is being prepared. The total amount of teaching load for all departments has been determined, and work has been started on the preparation of the initial version of the distribution of teaching load among professors and teachers of the departments.

It was noted that for the 2022/2023 academic year, educational documents for new specialties (curriculums, syllabuses, thematic plans, etc.) are being prepared, and at the same time, appropriate measures are being taken to teach new subjects available in new specialties.

In connection with the announcement of 2022 as the year of Shusha, professor Adil Bakhshaliyev, dean of the faculty of History and geography  informed about the participation of a group of SSU employees in the III International Karabakh Congress held in Shusha. He said that in accordance with the program of the III International Karabakh Congress held on June 7-10, 2022 within the framework of the "Year of Shusha", a group of  employees of  Sumgayit State University  visited Shusha on June 8. Thus, the theses they sent to the conference were accepted and according to the rules of the conference, a visit of 100 scientists whose articles were accepted to Shusha city was organized before the opening ceremony. The participants of the trip visited the Jidir duzu (plain), the Upper and the Lower Govhar Aga Mosques, the Castle walls, Ganja gate and a number of historical and cultural monuments, as well as Khurshidbanu Nateva, who was brought from Baku to Shusha by the order of the Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev, whose return is considered a "symbol of victory",  the busts  of Uzeyir  Hajibeyli and Bulbul. The dean also stated that the implementation of improvement, construction and reconstruction works in the liberated territories in accordance with international standards, at a high level, with special pleasure, conditions our compatriots to return to their native lands soon.

Then, the participation of a group of employees of SSU in the III International Karabakh Congress held in Shusha, as well as the dean of the faculty of History and geography professor Adil Bakhshaliyev's presiding over the section meeting of the Congress was positively evaluated.

Associate professor Elmar Khalilov informed about the state of preparations for the graduation day. He noted that in the past years, "Alumni Days" at SSU were carried out with high organization,  and active participation of students, and since it was impossible to hold Alumni Days in the traditional form in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic, with the showing of highly professionally prepared videos graduation day is celebrated.

This year, preparations for holding the "Graduation Day" continue  in the traditional form. Faculty deans were assigned to carry out appropriate measures to identify students with high academic performance and present their diplomas on the "Graduation Day", as well as to present outstanding and active students with Honorary Decrees of the  rector of SSU , the Committee of the Trade Union of Azerbaijan Education Workers and the Azerbaijan Student Youth Organization.

It was considered appropriate to hold the graduation day on June 29.

The rector stated his tasks and recommendations on the completion of preparations for the Graduation day. The vice-rector for social issues and public relations  Elmar Khalilov  oversees the completion of preparations for the "Graduation Day".

Associate professor Elmar Khalilov  gave detailed information about the progress of the implementation of the Action Plan for the 60th anniversary of SSU .

The rector noted that an International scientific conference was planned to be held on the eve of the 60th anniversary of SSU, therefore, it is appropriate to invite the rectors of Russian universities, which have closer relations with SSU, to the 60th anniversary of SSU and to the international scientific conference. At the same time, it is planned to invite heads of Turkish universities and other foreign universities  to the jubilee.
