The winners of the Subject Olympiad about history of Azerbaijan among students at SSU were awarded
The winners of the subject olympiad were awarded which dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Sumgayit State University "Karabakh is Azerbaijan!" on the history of Azerbaijan among the pupils of IX-XI grades of the city secondary schools.
Elmar Khalilov vice-rector for Social affairs and public relations, congratulated the students, their teachers and parents who won the olympiad and spoke about the activities carried out in recent years in the field of working with talented children. He noted that historically, every nation connects its hopes for a happy future primarily with the younger generation. Raising a healthy and intelligent young generation is one of the main strategic goals of every nation. In this regard, the holding of subject olympiads in secondary schools has already become a tradition at our university. The main purpose of such olympiads is to identify talented students, increase students' interest in subjects, create a basis for them to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in a healthy competitive environment and prepare for career choice.
After the speech of the vice-rector, the winners of the I, II and III places in the Olympiad were awarded.
Dean of the faculty of History and geography professor Adil Bakhshaliyev head of the department of history of the peoples of Azerbaijan and Eastern Europe, professor Shirkhan Salimov congratulated the students who excelled in the knowledge competition and presented the winners with honorary diplomas and gifts.
At the end, Sabir Ismayilov speaking on behalf of the parents congratulated the winners and thanked the university administration for organizing the olympiad at a high level. He noted that our university pays special attention to science, education and higher education. Sabir Ismayilov stressed that if you want to grow as a professional researcher-specialist, I recommend you Sumgayit State University, which is the only higher education institution in our city.
We may note that, 218 pupils from 41 high schools and 4 lyceums operating in Sumgayit took part in the Olympiad on history of Azerbaijan . The questions presented to the students in two versions were compiled by the staff of the department of history of the peoples of Azerbaijan and Eastern Europe.
