An event dedicated to Memorial Day was held at the faculty of Philology
On September 26, an event dedicated to the memory of the martyrs of the Patriotic war was held at the faculty of Philology of Sumgayit State University.
Teachers and students of the faculty, veterans and public representatives took part in the event.
First, the memory of the martyrs of the Patriotic war was commemorated with a minute of silence.
Speaking, the dean of the faculty of Philology, associate professor Sevinj Hamzayeva said that the Azerbaijan nation is living the most magnificent page of our national history. On September 27, 2020, in response to the next provocation by the Armenian armed forces, the Azerbaijani Army, under the leadership of the President, Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev, carried out counter-offensive operations in all directions of the front. The 44-day war ended with a victory of Azerbaijan, and the lands occupied for nearly 30 years were liberated. For the first time in the last 200 years, a brilliant victory over the arch-enemy was achieved. Then the lecturers of the faculty of Philology - PhDs in Philology Ali Rzazade, Ilaha Valiyeva made a speech and spoke about the heroism of the soldiers and officers of our Army, the bravery of our martyrs and veterans. They confidently emphasized that the glorious history written by them will be an example for future generations.
Vasif Malikov Azizaga oglu , who was a member of the Special Forces for 20 years, a veteran of the Patriotic war, and Faig Ahmadov Mohubbat oglu, who volunteered for the battles spoke about the path of fighting they passed, the bloody war days, the determination of our soldiers and officers to fight for the rights of Azerbaijan and how they showed true fighting spirit to the whole world.
