An event called "44 days to Victory..." was held at SSU
On September 26, an event titled "44 Days to Victory..." was held in the Great Assembly hall of Sumgayit State University, organized by the faculty of History and geography and the Student Youth Organization.
First, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played, and the memory of our martyrs was commemorated with a minute of silence.
The event was opened by the dean of the faculty of History and geography, professor Adil Bakhshaliyev spoke about the historic Victory achieved by our Armed Forces in the 44-day Patriotic war under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev. He noted that in 2020, under the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief of the Azerbaijan Armed Forces Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the victory of the Azerbaijan Army over the enemy was forever engraved in golden letters in the history of Azerbaijan. The counter-offensive operation launched by the Azerbaijani Army against the invading Armenian armed forces on September 27 resulted with the complete victory of our country and the capitulation of the enemy. With that, the Patriotic war ended.
Parviz Jafarov, senior lecturer of the department of History of peoples of Azerbaijan and East European , Farida Jabrayilova, Zahid Bunyadov, senior lecturers of the department of Philosophy, sociology and political science spoke about the great victory of the Azerbaijani Army by defeating the armed forces of the invading Armenia during the 44-day military operations. They said that in this war, the people of Azerbaijan, bravery of our soldiers and officers, showed what we are capable of to the enemy thanks to the determined steps of our President. The 44-day long war ended with the crushing defeat of the enemy. This victory was achieved at the cost of the lives and blood of thousands of our martyrs.
Speakers also noted that infinite respect and reverence for the dear memory of our martyrs is our civic duty.
Later, Ganira Guliyeva, mother of martyr Elgun Guliyev, who was a student of the faculty of History and geography, and Mahir Allahverdiyev, uncle of martyr Vusal Allahverdiyev, spoke at the event and shared their memories about them, their honorable lives and ways of fighting, and the importance of holding such events. They also expressed their gratitude to President Mr. Ilham Aliyev and First vice president Mehriban Aliyeva for the attention and care shown to the family members of the martyrs who died for the Motherland.
Students performed patriotic songs and poems at the event.
At the end of the event, a literary and artistic composition was presented.
