Head of the Scientific department of SSU docent Samir Orujov participated in the "Meeting on improving the international rating indicators (H index) related to scientific publications" held in the conference hall of ASAN service center No. 7 in Baku on October 27, 2022. The following issues were discussed at the event:

1. Work done in the direction of implementation of the road map;

2. Submission of new competition projects in order to stimulate scientific publications to be published in prestigious journals;

3. Submission of a report on the topic development of research-oriented skills and formation of reference compiling ;

4. Submission of the "Virtual educator" program related to the development of foreign language skills of researchers (within the implementation of point 14 of the Road Map);

5. The differential salary system in science and higher education institutions, submission of a report relating Turkey"s experience in order to stimulate scientific publications (within the implementation of points 20 and 24 of the Road Map);

6. Support measures and new initiatives of the non-state sector in the implementation of the Road Map (within the implementation of paragraphs 1-14 and 17-18 of the Road Map);

7. Measures carried out in the direction of preparation of the concept document that allows the implementation of strategic planning of scientific and research activities of science and higher education institutions every 3 years;

8. Determining the priority directions of the subgroup related to scientific publications in 2023 and agreeing on organizational issues related to the preparation of the next year"s Road Map.

After the lectures, discussions were held about the topics. The following participants expressed their opinions in the meeting:Mehriban Imanova -the executive director of the Azerbaijan Science Foundation, Arzu Huseynova- the first deputy chairman of the Board of the Economic Scientific Research Institute of the Ministry of Economy, Elshan Bagyrzadeh- adviser to the rector of Azerbaijan State University of Economics, Farid Bakhshiyev- partner of Ekvita Company, Turkhan Suleyman-sector manager of science, higher and secondary education department of the Ministry of Science and Education, and leading employees of the universities under the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan Doc. S.K. Orucov mentioned in his speech the work done in SSU to increase the competitiveness of the university, to include the SSU scientific news magazine in international databases and to support the innovative activities of students. He added that the sending of a group of university employees to the Republic of Turkey in April of this year as a part of the visiting program, Technopark Istanbul,Silicon Valley and brought to the attention of the participants the information about visiting the technoparks of ITU ARI, Technokent, Bursa Uludag University and Bursa Technical University for gaining experience in the field of creating a modern innovative technopark in the university and organizing its efficient operation. He noted that with the order of SSU rector prof E.B. Huseynov No. R-29/1 dated 27.05.2022, a Working group, Mentor and Expert groups were established for the purpose of ensuring the efficient operation of the ICC. The Action plan of the Working group was approved, and implementing the relevant planned works continues in this field. At the end of the event, it was considered appropriate to hold such meetings regularly.
