On October 29, the event  dedicated to the 99th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey was held at the Heydar Aliyev Center. Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova, ambassador of Turkey to Azerbaijan Cahit Bagchi, military prosecutor Khanlar Valiyev, deputies of the chair  of the Milli Majlis, representatives of the state and government, ambassadors of foreign countries to Azerbaijan, representatives of higher education institutions and public representatives took part in the event organized by the Embassy of Turkey in Azerbaijan.

The event was opened by sounding  of the national anthems of the Republic of Azerbaijan and  of Turkey. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to Azerbaijan Cahit Bagchi   greeted the guests, spoke  about the eternal brotherhood of Turkey and Azerbaijan. The  ambassador read the address of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan: "Turkey is a great country that tries to promote peace and security in all regions of the world. We have achieved important successes in all fields, from agriculture to technology," he said.

Then the chair  of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova  on behalf of the government, read the congratulatory letter addressed by the President Mr. Ilham Aliyev to the people of Turkey on the occasion of the Republic Day and said: "Turkey  always shows a balanced and fair position in global issues. Its  position plays a stabilizing role in the world. Turkey"s support to Azerbaijan during the second Karabakh war showed once again that we are not alone, Turkish people are always with us. The path of Republic building started under the leadership of  Great Mustafa Kemal Atatürk Turkey  has become one of the most powerful states in the world. In particular, it should be said  that under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Turkey, the  politician and statesman Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Republic of Turkey has great influence in the international arena.

The event continued  accompanied by a  program.

It should be noted that associate professor Gafar Atayev vice rector for International relations of Sumgait State University, as well as Sadagat Fatullayeva head of the department of International cooperation and foreign students took part in the event.
