On November 4, in the Great Assembly hall of Sumgayit State University, an extended seminar  of the Heydar Aliyev school on the topic "Heydar Aliyev"s far-sighted policy is the basis of our 44-day glorious victory" was held.

The management of Sumgayit State University and the head of the Sumgayit city headquarters of the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription of the Republic of Azerbaijan, major general Natig Garayev  first paid tribute to the memory of National leader Heydar Aliyev by  laying flowers  to the bust erected in the lobby of the university. Then they visited the memorial monument of students and graduates who rose to the peak of martyrdom in the yard of the university and laid flowers in front of the monument.

The souls of our martyrs, who died for the freedom and territorial integrity of our country  were commemorated with a minute of silence.

Then a competition-exhibition of students" handiwork and paintings, organized on the occasion of November 8 - Victory Day  was viewed.

In the event that continued in the Great Assembly hall, the rector of the university professor Elkhan Huseynov  spoke about the position of the 44-day Patriotic War in the history of the statehood of Azerbaijan and the military history of the world and the  policy of the Great Leader"s army building and the history of the Glorious Victory, which was the logical result of the successful continuation of this policy by President Ilham Aliyev.He emphasized that the establishment of November 8 as a Victory Day in Azerbaijan by the Decree of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev dated December 3, 2020 is the beginning of a new stage in the life of our country. He noted that today we say with a great sense of pride that the strong foundations of the independent Azerbaijan Republic, by our great leader Heydar Aliyev  became a powerful state thanks to the successful policies and wise decisions of the President of the Independent Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev. Thanks to the determination of our  Commander-in-Chief, leadership skills our nation united around the head of the country    like an iron fist  the most glorious  pages of our victory annals were written on September 27, 2020.

Congratulating our people on the occasion of "Victory Day", the rector gave the floor for the report to the head of the Sumgayit city headquarters of the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription of the Republic of Azerbaijan major general Natig Garayev.

Major-General Natig Garayev made a speech on the topic "History of victory - restored the territorial integrity of our country". He stated that the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan, under the leadership of the  Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev  won a glorious Victory and  our country restored its territorial integrity. Despite the  provocations and mass vandalism of the enemy, residents of Tartar, Aghdam, Goranboy, Aghjabedi, Barda, Yevlakh, Beylagan regions, Ganja and Mingachevir cities of Azerbaijan showed high patriotism, will and determination until the end. The 44-day war once again proved Azerbaijan"s national unity and solidarity, how patriotic and great a nation it is. Today, the slogan "Karabakh is Azerbaijan and the interjection" has become a symbolic expression of Azerbaijan"s victory.

The following participants made a speech about the different topics :vice-rector for Science and innovations professor, honored teacher Ramazan Mammadov "Iron Fist" - Victory symbol of strength and solidarity", deputy dean of the faculty of History and geography, associate professor Osman Hajiyev "The role of the military industry in achieving our 44-day victory", III year student of the faculty of Engineering  Mahbuba Mammadova  "The history of our flag, which is a symbol of our nationality". They  spoke with great pride about the path  to victory, the military training of our army, the bravery of our soldiers, the battles we achieved thanks to the determination of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief unity of our people and the heroism of our soldiers in the 44-day Patriotic war. They noted that President Ilham Aliyev"s appeals to our people during the war and interviews  with  foreign media representatives, the activity of our citizens on social networks, as well as the fact that our scientists voiced Armenia"s aggression at international conferences, and published articles in the press as a result of them, Azerbaijan defeated the enemy not only on the military field, but also in the information war.

The event ended with a literary arts concert program.
