From November 22 to 24, an event was organized at Baku Business University in order to ensure the sustainability of the project of establishing and developing Quality Assurance Centers in Azerbaijan"s higher education institutions (ERASMUS+EQAC). The event was attended by Ulkar Sattarova- chair of the Board of the Agency for Quality Assurance in Education, Ibad Abbasov -rector of Baku Business University, Gulshan Bayramova- the author of the project, Parvin Karimzadeh -vice-rector for Scientific issues of Ganja State University, as well as specialists in Quality Assurance in Education from local and foreign universities. Ilgi Karapinar from Turkey"s Dokkuz Eylul University, George Dafoulas from Middlesex University in Great Britain, Jacinto Lombardo from Jean University in Spain, Pavel Malizenkov from Tuscia University in Italy, Kharina Chicha from Poland"s University of Economics participated.

Foreign experts made presentations on the role of quality assurance in higher education institutions and the internal quality assurance system in European universities, and gave the information to the participants about the best European experience.

Sumgayit State University was represented at the event by head of the Quality Assurance Department Narmin Hasanova, SSU manager of the ERASMUS+EQAC project and senior lecturer of the department of History and its teaching methodology Samira Mammadova.

It should be noted that since 2015, the Evaluation and Quality Control department at SSU was established by the relevant order of rector professor Elkhan Huseynov. The development of highly qualified staff potential is the main goal of the national education system. Increasing human resources is a state priority for successful integration into international competition, which is required by the state. Therefore, in order to achieve the development of quality education in the country, new educational reforms and strategies that meet international standards have been made. In order to ensure the sustainability of the project, to increase the quality in the teaching-learning process and to measure the quality with new methods, in 2021, by the next order of the rector of SSU, the Evaluation and Quality Control department was reorganized and continues to operate as the department of Quality assurance in education.
