On November 30, the next meeting of the Scientific Council was held at Sumgayit State University. Rector of the university professor Elkhan Huseynov declared the meeting open, greeted the members of the council and drew attention to the issues on the agenda.

Associate professor Sabir Khalilov - head of the department of Doctoral and master's studies informed about the results of the attestations of master's, doctoral students and dissertation students of SSU. He stated that it is important to focus on the completion of the dissertations  of the doctoral students working on the Doctor of science and doctor of philosophy programs according to an individual plan, if necessary to discuss it at the department meeting  it has been assigned to the faculty deans, department heads and scientific supervisors (scientific advisors). In order to further increase the demands in conducting attestations of dissertation candidates the dissertation works of master's, doctoral students was entrusted to the  faculty deans and department heads.

Head of the Scientific department associate professor Samir Orujov spoke about the discussion of the plan of national and international scientific conferences to be held in SSU in 2023.

For  improvement of the education of students in the spirit of patriotism at SSU, vice rector for Social affairs and public relations Elmar Khalilov made a speech and stated that the  seminars of the Heydar Aliyev school held regularly with the participation of students and young people at the Heydar Aliyev Center of SSU have a great impact on them.

In order to keep students' feelings of patriotism at a high level, the screening of feature films and documentaries dedicated to the theme of patriotism, holding meetings with the National Heroes of the Republic of Azerbaijan and other participants of the Patriotic War, as well as regular visits to the Alley of Martyrs and Military Trophies Park in Baku and Sumgait cities will continue. Pro-rector for Science and innovations professor Ramazan Mammadov spoke about the preparation for accreditation by the Agency for Quality Assurance in Education  to be held at SSU on April 17, 2023, and noted that the Collegium of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated September 30, 2022 in accordance with the "Institutional and Program Accreditation Criteria of the Higher Education Institution" approved by the Decision KQ-05, accreditation is planned to be held at SSU from April 17, 2023.

At the meeting, delegation consisting of 37 people  was approved for the purpose of creating the "Organization Commission" for the preparation of the self-analysis report related to the Accreditation.

The scientific secretary professor Mukhtar Samadov informed about the approval of the scientific supervisor for the dissertation work of Balakishi Iskanderov, the dissertation student of the department of literature of Azerbaijan and foreign countries, the granting of publication rights (grif) to the study materials, and the granting of scientific names.

After that, the dissertation of Balakishi Iskanderov was approved by doctor of philological sciences professor Rafig Aliyev.

It was noted that the Scientific Council received 1 monograph, 3 textbooks, and 2 subject programs. After the discussions, permission was given to publish the study materials.

Then, for the awarding of scientific titles, the issue of submitting a petition to the HAC to grant the scientific title of professor to Shafa Aliyev of the department of World economy and marketing for his scientific and pedagogical activity was discussed in the meeting. After the discussions, based on the results of the secret voting, it was decided to submit a petition to the HAC to give Shafa Aliyev the scientific title of professor.
