A BOOK DISCUSSION WAS HELD IN THE SCIENTIFIC LIBRARY OF SSU
On December 7, a discussion of must-read books was held at Sumgayit State University jointly organized by the Scientific library, SSS and STUC.
At the event, the problem of identity and dignity was discussed in 3 books - "Gombul" by Guy De Maupassa, "Carmen" by Prosper Merimen, "Korpusalanlar" by Ilyas Efendiyev.
The director of the scientific library Naila Amrahova said that the book is a moral bridge that unites the thoughts of different people and makes close communication between them. Today, the role of books and libraries, which are an integral part of culture, is great in the formation of the human factor in society, in the transformation of an individual into a personality. Because libraries play a great role in preserving and passing on national cultural resources to future generations, in shaping people"s level of thinking, and in raising a educated and intelligent young generation. In this direction, the Scientific library of Sumgayit State University has the richest fund and reader contingent.
Naila Amrahova also stated that the purpose of organizing the book discussion event is for young people to study and analyze the rich creativity of great writers, playwrights and public figures, and to reveal their speech and research skills.
Afiga Aliyeva senior lecturer of the department of literature of Azerbaijan and foreign countries , Sevinj Mammadova employee of the scientific library, Solmaz Bahramzade chair of the faculty of the Student Scientific Society, Laman Khudiyeva chair of the faculty of the Student Trade Union Committee spoke that books instill patriotism, history, and national roots in the young generation.They impact on the studentsʾthoughts, enriches their worldview to protect them from external influences, and instills feelings of attachment to the state, motherland, and people.
At the end, the questions of the students who participated closely in the discussions were answered.
