On October 27, an international scientific confrance on “modern scientific-technical and applied problems of Power Engineering” was held in Sumgait State University with Azerbaijan Scientific-Research and Project Search Institute of Energy. 
First, rector of the university Elkhan Huseynov exchanged opinions with the guests on benefits and perspectives of cooperation in the improvement of science and education. 
Then the leadership of SSU, professor-teacher staff and the representatives of  foreign countries put flowers to the front of the monument of  national leader Heydar Aliyev. 
In the Assembly hallof University rector Elkhan Huseynov greeted the participants and he introduced the deputy chief executive of Sumgait city Elgin Habibullayev, the assistant director  of Energetic Systems Institute on behalf of L.A.Melentyev in Irkutsk city, and his leading researcher Victor Kupbackini, the head of the Electron Systems department in Zaporizhia State Engineering Academy, professor Tatyana Kritskaya, the assistant professor of Pskov State University, Ph.D. Ivan Bandurin and other distinguished scientists from our universites to the confrance participants. 
Rector stated that with the initiative and leadership of national leader Heydar Aliyev the implementation of the  projects directed to compensating our republic’s electric energy demand with local opportunities has begun since 70th years.
The president of Azerbaijan Republic mister Ilham Aliyev’s directions on “State Programme on the development of fuel and energy complex” and “actions improving the electric energy supply in Azerbaijan” became the beginning of new era in the modern development stage of Power Engineering.  
The TEMPUS project of the European Commission in the subject of “Adapting the engineering training to Bologna Process in Azerbaijan” was completed. For the first time, three specialties at Sumgait State University (at bachelor’s level Process Automation Engineering, Power Engineering and master’s level Energy management in chemical industry), were awarded with the European Accreditation Agency certificate. These successes create a basis for our students to integrate into the European labour market.
The head ofthe Electron Systems department in Zaporizhia State Engineering Academy, professor Tatyana Kritskaya made a report in the subject of “Alternative power engineering- it’s current condition and perspective”, assistant director of Azerbaijan Scientific and Project Tracing Power Engineering Institute, professor Ashraf Huseynov made a report in the subject of“Azerbaijan Power Engineering in modern development period”,  assistant director  of Energetic Systems Institute on behalf of  L.A.Melentyev in Irkutsk city Sergey Senderov made a report in the subject of “The methodological aspects of indicative approach according evaluation of security level in the country and in the regions”, and professor  Vagif Salmanov made a report in the subject of “ The physical aspects of Power Engineering”. The guests expressed gratitude to the rector Elkhan Huseynov  for organizing the econfrance in the highest level. They noted that such events serve improving relations among our countries. They underlined their interests in strengthening collaboration with Sumgait State University.
The confrance continued in the form of mutual discussion. The guests visited to the Physics and Electrical Engineering faculty and they were informed about modern laboratories by professor-teacher staff. 
The international confrance will continue it’s work in the sections of “Management problems in modern energy systems”, “Modern conditions and improvement perspectives of non-traditional energy production of power engineering”, “Power converters and information technologies in power systems”, “Energy management and marketing”, “The ecological problems of power engineering”.
