On February 28, the first meeting of the Commission on Quality Assurance was held in order to fulfill the goals of the Strategic Development Plan of SSU, to establish the internal quality assurance mechanism of SSU, to develop an efficient and modern educational environment, to prepare the annual Self-Analysis Report on the university"s activities.

The meeting was announced by the chairman of the Commission, vice-rector for Teaching organization and training technologies Natig Talibov informed about the implementation of measures in the direction of improvement of the legal framework of education in SSU, ensuring material and technical support  and added that the meetings of the Commission will be held every month.

The secretary of the commission, the head of the department of quality assurance in education of SSU senior lecturer Narmin Hasanova spoke about "State Strategy for the Development of Education in the Republic of Azerbaijan" approved by the Order No. 13 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated October 24, 2013, for competitive education environment in accordance with the development concept of Azerbaijan and advanced international experience, strategic goals and measures in the direction of building the education system. She stated that the Strategic Development Program of Sumgayit State University was adopted in 2020 in order to ensure the implementation of these tasks  and 7 main strategic directions of the university"s development were determined for the period 2020-2025. In strategic directions, the main goals and corresponding measures have been defined. Narmin Hasanova informed about the Action Plan of the Commission, which was drawn up for the purpose of monitoring the timely implementation of measures related to the implementation of strategic goals, carrying out the expertise of the done works and preparing relevant reports. Then, division of work was conducted among the members of the Action Plan Commission.
