On March 10, the next scientific seminar was held online in accordance with the plan of scientific-practical seminars approved for 2023 within the framework of cooperation between the departments of Economics of Sumgayit State University and Economic Security of Ufa State Oil Technical University. Professors and students of both higher education institutions participated in the seminar.

Associate professor Lala Mahmudova, head of the department of Economics of Sumgayit State University welcomed the participants of the seminar and emphasized the importance of regularly holding scientific seminars between the two departments and noted that the publication of a collective monograph entitled "Sustainable development and national economic security problems" based on the materials of the meetings held in previous years is commendable.

After greeting the participants of the seminar, the head of the department of Economic Security of the Ufa State Oil Technical University, associate professor Olga Mamelatalashvili noted the importance of international scientific seminars in the scientific development of the departments and proposed to publish the materials of this year's seminars at the end of the year.

Then, the senior lecturer of the department of Economics of Sumgait State University Mahammad  Ahmadov spoke on the theme "Necessity of socio-economic monitoring of regions for the purpose of ensuring economic security" said that after the 44-day Great Karabakh Victory, which began on September 27, 2020, the new economic development model of our country and its improvement in accordance with objective realities caused more flexible and efficient regulation of management forms as an objective necessity. Despite the liberation of our lands from occupation and the defeat of the invading Armenian army, despite the signing of the surrender agreement by the Armenian leadership, revanchist forces and their two-faced supporters  in various leading world countries, politicians and international organizations who introduce double standards into state policy don't want to come to terms with it and continue to resort to provocations. In such a situation, taking the necessary measures for the rapid revival of the territories freed from occupation, the creation of infrastructure and the acceleration of the great return is the most consistent response to such forces and revanchists. In this regard, the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated July 7, 2021 on the creation of new economic regions in the Republic of Azerbaijan is of great importance in ensuring the sustainable and balanced development of the regions of the country for increasing the economic potential of the regions  and improving the welfare of the population. The creation of Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur economic region is the beginning of large-scale measures in the restoration and future development of the territories freed from occupation. The speaker stated that the 10th Global Baku Forum under the protection of the President of Azerbaijan  Ilham Aliyev and  with the organization by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center on March 9 will last for 3 days under the theme "The World Today: Challenges and Hopes" is  great importance in the direction of solving regional problems.

Elvira Mukhamadiyeva-associate professor of the department of Economic Security of the Ufa State Oil Technical University  delivered a report on "Monitoring the socio-economic development of the region for the purpose of ensuring economic security". The speaker gave information about the requirements for the monitoring indicators of the socio-economic development of the region, the factors and categories, stages of the socio-economic development of the region and  the model for determining the level of threats, etc.

Later, the participants of the seminar exchanged ideas about the reports.
