On March 13, an event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev on the topic "Heydar Aliyev - the beginning of the path to victory" was held at the faculty of Chemistry and biology organized by the Student Trade Union and the Student Youth Organization.

At the event attended by teachers and students. The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played, the memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs who died for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was commemorated with a minute of silence.

Opening the event, the dean of the faculty, docent Mahal Muradov spoke about the honorable life path and activities of Heydar Aliyev-the National Leader of our nation, a world-famous political figure, a genius and his invaluable services to the destiny of the Azerbaijani people, the formation of national unity and statehood, including the strengthening of the country"s international position. He talked about the reforms implemented in political, economic, science, education and other fields. The genius Heydar Aliyev saved Azerbaijan from the edge of destruction and became the great savior of our people. Our nation never forgets the services of a genius, remembers his memory with respect and always holds it in high regard. The dean also pointed out that the great Victory we won in the 44-day Patriotic war proved once again that the ideas of Heydar Aliyev live forever. This historic victory won by the brave Azerbaijan Army under the leadership of President, Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev to our independent state is a great celebration of the ideals of independent statehood of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev.

Then a video was shown, reflecting some moments of the Great Leader"s life and political activities.

Speaking later professor Shirkhan Salimov head of the department of History of peoples of Azerbaijan and Eastern Europe nations talked about the achievements of Heydar Aliyev, the founder of the modern state of Azerbaijan in the history of the statehood of the Azerbaijani people. He said that the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev served the interests of the people and the state at every moment of his activity. He worked selflessly for the integrity of the state and people of Azerbaijan, he developed our statehood and further improve the well-being of the people. The successful domestic and foreign policy course implemented by President Ilham Aliyev - the worthy follower of the National Leader. The achieved dynamic development and unshakable socio-political stability show that the strategic path chosen by modern independent Azerbaijan is based on national interests and the supreme will of the people. Ilham Aliyev Aliyev not only as president, but also as a son fulfilled both his father"s will and the presidential oath, taking upon himself great responsibility.

Other speakers made a speech at the event talked about the historical services of the genius Heydar Aliyev to the state and people of Azerbaijan. They emphasized that Heydar Aliyev will always be remembered as a true leader, his life and devotion to the motherland will always be an example for the younger generation.

At the event, students performed poems and songs dedicated to the memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, "You are such a peak", "A great leader, "Voice of the land".
