On April 6 with the organization of "Young Political Scientists" club, the event was held at SSU. The professor-teacher of the faculty of History and geography, as well as the students  participated in the event on “The concept of the return of the Western Azerbaijan Community to Western Azerbaijan".

First, the memory of our martyrs was commemorated with a minute of silence.

Opening the event, dean of the faculty of History and geography professor Adil Bakhshaliyev said that the policy of ethnic cleansing and genocide against the local population  was carried out at the beginning of the 20th century by Armenian nationalists and churchmen. Armenia, which was established in Western Azerbaijan in 1918 provocation against Azerbaijan became the state policy of that Republic.

The dean also noted that our victory in the 44-day Patriotic War was not only the liberation of our occupied territories, the return of more than 1 million internally displaced persons to their native lands, but also gave new hope to our people who lived as refugees for 32 years. Today, real steps are being taken to realize for it.President Ilham Aliyev declared in his speech at the opening of the new administrative building of the Western Azerbaijan Community on December 24, 2022, that the state of Azerbaijan will be with them until the end. Professor Adil Bakhshaliyev stated that the Western Azerbaijan Community has already addressed the UN with a statement, and that the Azerbaijani state has tried to restore rights and justice based on international law. Adil Bakhshaliyev expressed his belief in the efficiency of the event organized by the "Young Political Scientists" club and wished success to the club members and participants.

The participants made reports about this theme such as senior lecturer of the department of Philosophy, Sociology and Political Science, "Necessity of the creation of the West Azerbaijan community", Naila Gasimova, teacher of the department of Philosophy, Sociology and Political Science, "Our national and cultural resources subjected to genocide in the territory of West Azerbaijan", Abulfaz Mammadov, students of the faculty, "Ethnic cleansing policy of Armenia", Samir Ismayilov "European Union and Armenia".

The subject of the discussions after the reports was about the responsibility and role of the UN together with the Armenian government in ensuring the return of West Azerbaijanis to their native lands in a peaceful and negotiated, safe and dignified manner, providing them with financial compensation, rehabilitation and reintegration. The participants also had a wide exchange of ideas regarding the Concept of Returning to Western Azerbaijan.
