On April 7, an extended meeting of the rectorate of Sumgayit State University was held. Rector of SSU professor Elkhan Huseynov declared the meeting open, greeted the participants and brought to their attention the issues on the agenda.

Then the discussion of the issues on the agenda began.

Associate professor Sabir Khalilov head of the department of Doctoral and Master's Studies, informed about the state of preparation for the XXIII Republican Scientific Conference of Master's students. He said that in accordance with the list of international and national level scientific conferences and symposia to be held in higher education institutions in 2023 the XXIII Republican scientific conference of master's students dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev is planned to be held at Sumgayit State University, May 11-12, 2023 .An organizing committee was created, a letter was sent to scientific and educational institutions, an announcement about the holding of the conference was posted on the university's sdu.edu.az portal and more than 900 applications were received from 26 scientific and educational institutions. After 780 materials were examined, 734 theses were accepted and 46 theses were rejected for plagiarism and not meeting the requirements.

Associate professor Sabir Khalilov also noted that the examination of other materials included in the XXIII Republic Scientific Conference of masterʾs students is about to be concluded. Parallel to this, sections are formed and the program is compiled. I hope that the conference will be held on time and at the required level with the support of faculty deans, departments, the Information Technology Center and the Editorial and Publishing Department.

Rector professor Elkhan Huseynov noted that we hold the Republican Scientific Conference of master's students every year, we already have enough experience, besides, all materials should be carefully checked, technical issues should be resolved in time and kept in focus. After the discussions, the head of the department of Doctoral Sstudies and Master's department, associate professor Sabir Khalilov was entrusted for supervision of the conference.

Deputy rector for Economic affairs Naib Hajiyev made a report on the further strengthening of the material and technical base of Sumgayit State University.

In his report, speaking about the work done during 2022-2023, the vice-rector noted that the boiler room, which will provide heat to the II educational building and the Student House, and 2 water reservoirs of 110 cubic meters have already been put into operation. He noted that at present, works are being carried out on the lighting and cameras of the area, the construction of new sidewalks, as well as the construction of a generator that will provide electricity.

In addition to these, Naib Hajiyev said about the construction work in the field of mini-football playground, dressing room, running field and bicycle lane, also talked about prospective plans: "First of all, we consider it is important to install turnstiles as part of the security measures of the university. In addition, renovation of the facade of the III educational building, major repair of the A building, construction of a new boiler room, and regulation of heating systems are among the urgent issues ahead. The vice-rector noted that the equipment for 3 faculty laboratories has been purchased and said that the renovation of computers, the design, construction of a new educational building and   creating of innovation center are planned. The speaker also noted that the design work for the installation of the fire technical system in both existing buildings will be completed soon.

Then vice-rector for Economic affairs Naib Hajiyev was entrusted to supervise the repair and reconstruction works of the III educational building of Sumgayit State University, to review proposals for the purchase of computers and laboratory equipment.

Vice-rector for Social affairs and public relations associate professor Elmar Khalilov gave a comprehensive report on the state of compliance with disciplinary rules at Sumgayit State University. He noted that the success and achievements of every enterprise are the result of strict compliance there. In recent times, SSU has achieved many successes, the material and technical base of the university has been strengthened, the working conditions of employees have been improved. Cooperation with highly rated universities, our successes in various intellectual and sports competitions have further increased the activity of our university.

The vice-rector also noted that the disciplinary rules, inspections under strict control are regularly carried out by the representative of the HR department, the chairman of the Trade Union Committee. Then he pointed out some specific facts and put forward relevant suggestions.

Then, organizing the collective discussion of the issues on the agenda of the rectorate taking appropriate measures was entrusted to the faculty deans, the heads of the structures, and the supervision of the employees' work attendance was entrusted to Nofal Ahmadov, head of the HR department and to Nemat Ibayev-the chairman of the Trade Union Committee.

After the discussions, appropriate decisions were made and the rector's meeting ended its work.
