Students went on an excursion to the Gobustan State Historical-Artistic Reserve

Students Trade Organization were the Gobustan State Historical-Artistic Reserve. Head of the Department of History, associate professor Amirkhan Isayev said that the Gobustan foothills of the Caucasus Mountains a wide geographic region in the south-east of the Caspian Sea, with gorges and ravines across. Gobustan region is bodered on the north with the Caucasus range, the southern slope of the west - Pirsaat River, in the south- Mishov Harami mountains east-Caspian Sea. The reserve is located 70 km from Baku, and covers the mountains Cinqirdag (written hill), and Shakhgaya Shongar zone. Gobustan National Historical-Artistic Reserve currently functions as an open-air museum. Gobustan rock art attracts the attention not only the Azerbaijani scientists, as well as the world's most important scientists. The First Lady of Azerbaijan, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva has done a great contribution to the world-wide recognition of Gobustan, and the monuments of Gobustan National Historical-Artistic Reserve had been included into a list of a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage . As a result of concerted efforts of the major monuments of the world has been included in the next session of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List held in New Zealand, in June 2007. On more than 1000 rocks of Gobustan reserve were found 6000 rock carvings, about 20 and more than 40 ancient mounds were registered, 105000 items of culture have been studied scientifically. Recently, an interest to the reserve has been increased by the international scientific community and by the number of tourists.
Students were acquainted with the Gobustan historical monument, the rock carvings, settlements, as well as got interesting information about the nature of our memories, took the photos for etching impressions.
